摘要： The present invention relates to a method, a controller and a system for allocating access to time slots used for transferring data between nodes in a time multiplexed network, whose bandwidth is divided into cycles which in turn are divided into control slots for control signalling and data slots for transferring data, wherein slots allocated to a primary home node may be temporarily allocated to a temporary home node, said temporary home node instead of said primary home node then temporarily having the write access to said slots, and subsequently reallocated to said primary home node. According to the invention, the degree of temporary allocation of slots to a first node is evaluated and the number of slots having said first node as primary home node is increased, based upon said evaluation and in response thereto, in order to decrease the need for temporary allocation of slots within said network.

摘要： A typical feature of high-speed data transmission in a cellular radio environment is that it is strongly unidirectional. In accordance with the present invention, a connection can be adapted to this fact so that the connection is asymmetric, providing a large transmitting capacity in the direction in which the most of the data stream is passing, whereas in the opposite direction, the transmitting capacity is smaller. The transmission and reception time-slots are arranged asymmetrically so that transmission and reception do not take place simultaneously. Upon establishing a connection, the mobile station informs the network of its maximum capacity regarding reception and transmission, whereby the network calculates an appropriate time-slot configuration. First, a symmetric connection consisting of a specific number of channel pairs is allocated in the same way as in a prior art HSCSD method. Thereafter, only the required time-slots in the transmitting and receiving directions are used, still keeping the unused time-slots allocated.

摘要： A wireless in-building telecommunications system for voice and data communications is disclosed having at least one node (101) arranged for linking to the PSTN (151) and at least one digital information source (153, 155, 157, 159) multiplicity of user modules (103) (UM's) linked to the node via a shared RF communications path (107). Each UM is coupled to a voice telephone instrument (127) and to one or more data terminals (165). The UM's communicate with the node by exchanging fast packets via the common RF path (107). The node also includes a fast-packet-switched mechanism controlled by a bandwidth allocating scheme to prevent collisions of packets as they are transmitted between the various units (101, 103) (nodes and/or user modules) that may be accessing the RF path (107). Also disclosed is a method for allocating the required bandwidth to each of the users of the common communications path in a wireless in-building telephone system. The invention provides for the combination of both voice and data in a single switch using a common packet structure. It allows for the dynamic allocation of bandwidth based on system loading. This includes not only bandwidth within the voice or data areas of the frame, but also between the voice and data portions. It also synchronizes the transfer of the data and the allocation of bus bandwidth.
