摘要： A computer-implemented method and system for simulating reservoir property trends, including petrophysical trends within facies geobodies, is provided. One embodiment includes discretizing a range of values of the reservoir property to be modeled into at least two categories and utilizing the categories to discretize the associated well data and training image into categorical well data and a categorical training image. An embodiment includes applying MPS simulation using the categorical training image on a stratigraphic grid of nodes discretizing the reservoir volume to create a categorical property model. The embodiment additionally includes applying variogram-based simulation in each sub-region of the categorical property model to create a reservoir property model that reproduces the category histogram of each associated sub-region and models the reservoir property trends.

A plurality of receivers mounted are on a downhole tool, and are arranged and adapted to receive refracted acoustic energy from a downhole formation. Measurements of refracted acoustic energy is analyzed such that information relating to an azimuthal direction relative to the downhole tool of an interface within the downhole formation can be estimated. 摘要： Method for determining reservoir permeability from Stoneley wave attenuation extracted from conventional sonic logs by inversion of the full Biot wave equations for a porous medium. Frequency-dependent Stoneley-wave attenuation is extracted by analyzing array sonic measurements. Then, based on Biot's full theory applied to a borehole model and the standard logs (gamma ray, caliper, density, neutron, resistivity, sonic, etc.), a simulation model with the same parameters as the Stoneley-wave measurements is built. Next, a theoretical Stoneley-wave attenuation is computed for a given permeability. Finally, reservoir permeability is determined by comparing the modeled Stoneley-wave attenuation with the measured Stoneley-wave attenuation by an iterative inversion process.

摘要： A method useful for evaluating the presence and/or the quality of the cement bond (44) of a downhole tubular (36). The method involves measuring radial resonance modes of the tubular (36), and comparing those measured values to the unbound tubular resonant values of a calibration ring. For a well bonded tubular (36), the measured radial resonance should be greater than that of the unbound tubular calibration ring. In regions where a fluid, such as water surrounds the outside of the tubular (36), or the cement (44) is otherwise not bonded to the outer surface of the tubular (36), the measured response should be less than the calibrated response. The calibration ring should have the same diameter, wall thickness, and be made of the same material as the tubular (36).
