摘要： A surgical suturing stapler using a staple cartridge (40, 50, 80, 96) for containing substantially U-shaped staples (S), which can be detachably fitted into a cartridge holding means placed between two jaws (10, 20, 90, 92). The staples (S) can be easily loaded into the staple cartridge by detaching the cartridge (40, 50, 80, 96) from the stapler. When closing the jaws between which the stapler cartridge is placed, the staples (S) in the cartridge are discharged and inserted into bodily tissues or the like to be sutured. By using the staple cartridge magnetized, the staples of metallic material are magnetically retained within the staple cartridge.

摘要： A fastener cartridge can comprise a support portion, a tissue thickness compensator positioned relative to the support portion, and a plurality of fasteners positioned within the support portion and/or the tissue thickness compensator which can be utilized to fasten tissue. In use, the fastener cartridge can be positioned in a first jaw of a surgical fastening device, wherein a second jaw, or anvil, can be positioned opposite the first jaw. To deploy the fasteners, a staple-deploying member is advanced through the fastener cartridge to move the fasteners toward the anvil. As the fasteners are deployed, the fasteners can capture at least a portion of the tissue thickness compensator therein along with at least a portion of the tissue being fastened. The anvil includes primary and secondary staple receiving pockets, in particular arranged such that a staple leg that does not properly enter a primary staple pocket may instead enter a secondar staple pocket.
