摘要： Disclosed are devices and methods related to flat gas discharge tubes (GDTs). In some embodiments, a plurality of GDTs can be fabricated from an insulator plate having a first side and a second side, with the insulator plate defining a plurality of openings. Each opening can be covered by first and second electrodes on the first and second sides of the insulator plate to thereby define an enclosed gas volume configured for GDT operation. Various examples related to such GDTs, including electrode configurations, opening configurations, pre-ionization features, grouping of a GDT with another GDT or device, and packaging configurations, are disclosed.

摘要： Method and system for controlling and limiting the damage caused by arcs formed on exposed conductors in electrical distribution equipment involve using the tendency of an arc to move in a direction away from a current source and toward the terminal ends of the conductors. An arc interruption device, or arc interrupter, is placed over the terminal ends of the conductor to capture the arc as it travels toward the terminal ends of the conductors. Within the arc interrupter, the shape of the arc is conformed to geometries designed to stretch and extend the arc to the point where it can no longer be sustained and is extinguished.

摘要： A line protector for central office use comprises an elongated housing (2) open at one side for receiving components and a cover (30) for the opening (28). First and second surge arresters (38) are coaxially positioned within the housing. First and second line terminals (58, 60) are respectively connected to the arresters as is a common ground terminal (62). The three terminals project from one end of the housing in the provision of coplanar flat pins (68, 72, 80) for plugin connection with a circuit board edge connector (108). A test contact (90) in the housing permits use of a test probe to test the lines while the protector is plugged into the connector. A shiftable insulator (82) in the housing is used optionally to interrupt the inside lines at the line terminal pins (68, 72).

摘要： A high voltage discharge protective device for an RF device having a signal port, includes a blocking capacitor arranged at the signal port of the RF device, a circuit board for mounting the blocking capacitor, and a metal conductor grounded and partially bare. The blocking capacitor includes a main body and two leads connected to the main body and secured to the circuit board. The bottom portion of the main body is bare to form an exposed portion. The exposed portion is spaced apart from the circuit board to form an interval. The metal conductor is disposed within the interval and corresponds to the exposed portion of the blocking capacitor. When the passing voltage within the blocking capacitor reaches a predetermined value, the exposed portion of the blocking capacitor sparkly discharges to the metal conductor. An RF device is also provided.
