摘要： Medicament compositions are in the shape of a dental tray or tray-like configuration, optionally in combination with a protective barrier layer. Shaped medicament compositions comprise a substantially solid medicament layer that has increased adhesiveness to teeth and/or gingiva when moistened with saliva or water. The shape of the medicament composition facilitates placement of the composition over a person's teeth and/or gingiva with substantially less manipulation compared to the use of initially flat strips. The substantially solid medicament composition becomes more adhesive when moistened with saliva or water, yet remains intact and coherent after the medicament composition is placed over a person's teeth and/or gingiva, particularly when used in combination with a moisture-resistant barrier. The result is that the moistened medicament composition is able to reliably adhere against a user's teeth and/or gingiva during a treatment procedure.

摘要： Treatment compositions in the shape of a dental tray (10), strip or patch include an adhesive composition (20) and a treatment gel (28). A barrier layer (18) may be included to form a treatment device (10) that protects the treatment gel (28) from saliva or moisture during use. The adhesive composition (20) is substantially solid and has increased adhesiveness to oral tissue when moistened with saliva or water. The adhesive composition (20) is formed from an intermediate composition that is heated to drive off the solvent. Using a treatment gel (28) separate from the adhesive composition (20) improves the potency and stability of the active agent prior to use.

They may be injection molded from a two-part liquid silicone composition or a silicone-like TPE material (e.g., preferably SEBS and/or VERSAflex thermoplastic elastomer). The trays (100) possess a greater ability to adhere to a person's teeth compared to non-elastomeric thermoplastic materials. Due to their high adaptability and conformability, the non- customized dental trays (100) behave like a semi-custom dental tray when placed over conformed to a person's teeth, particularly when used in combination with a sticky, viscous treatment composition.

摘要： Packaging systems are configured for improving long-term stability of a composition. Packaging systems may include a packaging container defining an enclosed volume. The packaging system may additionally include a removable cover that enables the packaging container to be opened and closed such that the packaging container system includes a sealed or sealable volume to contain a main composition in fluid communication with a sacrificial composition. The main composition may include one or more volatile or gas-releasing materials and the sacrificial material may include a stabilizing component that replaces the at least one volatile or gas-releasing component within the main composition or displaces the at least one volatile or gas-releasing component within the enclosed volume. The sacrificial composition helps maintain stability of the main composition by accelerating equilibrium of vapors or gases within the headspace of the sealed interior volume.

摘要： Fluoride varnish compositions for temporary application and adhesion to a person's teeth include a carrier that remains stable and translucent during storage. The compositions include a carrier comprising a stable and translucent resin and a fluoride ion source (e.g., a fluoride salt such as sodium fluoride) dispersed within the carrier so as to provide biologically available fluoride ions to teeth being treated. The carrier resists formation of solids that can plug a 25 gauge or smaller syringe brush applicator tip. The compositions may also include an adhesion promoting agent comprising an alkyl phosphoric acid. The composition adheres only temporarily to tooth tissue (e.g., for a period of at least about 4 minutes, but not more than about 1 year), after which the composition spontaneously wears away as a natural result of the action of the tongue, saliva and/or other factors.

摘要： Pre-shaped, non-custom dental trays are either preloaded with a dental treatment composition (e.g., in the form of a gel) or filled with a dental treatment composition just prior to placement over a person's teeth. The pre-shaped dental tray is thin and flexible, which allows it to be placed over a person's teeth and then approximately conform to the person's teeth. The pre-shaped, non-custom dental trays can therefore perform similar to a customized tray but without having to go through the more lengthy customization procedure. According to one embodiment, a pre-shaped dental tray can be pre-loaded with a dental treatment composition and stored within a sealed packaging container. Alternatively, it can be sold by itself or in combination with a treatment composition that a user can load into the dental tray. The tray can be manufactured by vacuum forming polymeric sheet material over a template.
