摘要： An exhaust purification system including a particulate filter , a selective reduction catalyst provided at a downstream side from the filter, an ammonia ingredient feed device which feeds an ammonia ingredient to the selective reduction catalyst, a control device which controls the amount of the ammonia ingredient which is adsorbed at the selective reduction catalyst to become a target adsorption amount, and a filter regeneration system which performs filter regeneration processing to remove PM which has built up on the particulate filter when an execution start condition stands. When removal of PM is demanded, so long as the execution start condition of the filter regeneration processing by the filter regeneration system does not stand, the target adsorption amount is decreased a plurality of times in stages, and the execution start condition of the filter regeneration processing is changed to a different condition at each stage of the target adsorption amount.

摘要： A NOx catalyst is provided that can realize a favorable NOx reduction in a broad temperature region and that can lighten the overhead involved in production. The NOx catalyst has active components exhibiting a selective reduction activity for NOx, wherein the active components exhibiting the selective reduction activity contains a high-temperature active component having a relatively high NOx reduction activity at high temperatures and a low-temperature active component having a relatively high NOx reduction activity at low temperatures; and the high-temperature active component and the low-temperature active component are disposed in a mixed state in a primary particle of the catalyst particle, and an active component ratio on a surface side of the primary particle is larger than an active component ratio on an interior side of the primary particle, with the active component ratio being is a ratio of a concentration of the high-temperature active component to a concentration of the low-temperature active component in the primary particle.

摘要： A particulate filter (23) for trapping particulate matter contained in exhaust gas is arranged in an engine exhaust passage. The particulate filter is provided with alternately arranged exhaust gas inflow and outflow passages, porous partition walls (72) which separate these inflow and outflow passages from each other, a layer of an NO X selective reduction catalyst (81) with a ratio of passage of particulate matter higher than a predetermined first ratio of passage, and a layer of an oxidation catalyst (80) with a ratio of passage of particulate matter lower than the first ratio of passage. On the surfaces (72i) of the partition walls (72) at the exhaust gas inflow passage (71i) sides, the layer of the oxidation catalyst (80) is arranged at the downstream side in the flow direction of exhaust gas from the inflow passages through the partition walls (72) to the outflow passages and the layer the an NO X selective reduction catalyst (81) is arranged at the upstream side.

摘要： An exhaust cleaning filter (4) for collecting particulate matter contained in exhaust gas and suitable for being disposed in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine is provided with: an exhaust gas inflow passage (5i) and an exhaust gas outflow passage (5o) disposed in alternating fashion; and a porous partition wall (6) for setting the exhaust gas inflow passage and the exhaust gas outflow passage at a distance from each other. A small pore region (CZ) is sectioned off on the upstream side of the partition wall and a large pore region (NCZ) is sectioned off on the downstream side of the partition wall. The average pore diameter of the partition wall in the large pore region is set to be greater than the average pore diameter of the partition wall in the small pore region, and is set so that ash contained in the exhaust gas is able to pass through the partition wall. The exhaust purification filter is provided with a promoting member (8) for promoting the passing of exhaust gas that has flowed into the exhaust gas inflow passage, through the partition wall in the small pore region, and promoting inflow into the exhaust gas outflow passage.
