摘要： In a method for reducing the phase noise introduced by pointer justifications from a synchronous digital hierarchy network in a transmitted numerical signal, occasional redundancies associated with bit justifications and fixed redundancies are combined with occasional prefiltered redundancies associated with the pointer justifications, and the combined signal is filtered in an analog phase locked loop. The occasional redundancies associated with the pointer justifications and at least part of the fixed redundancies with or without bit justifications are prefiltered in two stages, and the prefiltered signals are combined with the eventual occasional redundancies associated with the bit justifications only in case these occasional redundancies were not prefiltered.

摘要： A multi-service transport apparatus (switch) for integrated transport networks is described. The apparatus comprises an electrical matrix, termination function means handling signals incoming at said apparatus input, a plurality of termination function means interfacing different layers, and adaptation function means. The termination function means handling incoming signals are implemented in input/output port devices; the termination function means interfacing different layers and said adaptation function means are implemented in adapter devices. According to the present invention, the matrix performs exclusively the switching of the incoming signals that are already terminated and adapted by said input/output port devices and by said adapter devices and it is transparent with respect to the signal format.

The method includes the step of identifying an input protection group correlated to at least part of the multiple outputs, wherein the input protection group includes multiple working inputs out of the multiple inputs and includes at least one protection input out of the multiple inputs for protecting the multiple working inputs, the at least one protection input being connected to at least one of the plurality of switching matrices different from the switching matrix connected to one of the multiple working inputs, wherein the correlation indicates that the multiple working inputs are cross-connected to the at least part of the multiple outputs across the switching system, and wherein the at least part of the multiple outputs are connected to different switching matrices, includes the step of identifying a number of cross-connections required across the switching system from the multiple working inputs and the at least one protection input to the at least part of the multiple outputs in case of protecting the multiple working inputs with the at least one protection input, and includes the step of allocating the number of cross-connections over the switching system by crossing a single switching matrix out of the plurality of switching matrices.
