    • A movable contact is mounted on the vicinity of one end of a movable contact piece having a generally U-like shape and made of an elastic member. A recess of a generally circular arc-shape in section is formed on the vicinity of the other end of the movable contact piece to extend in the direction of the width thereof. The movable contact piece is swingably supported by the movable contact piece support member, and a generally circular arc-shaped tip in section of a movable contact piece actuator of an operation button is engaged with the recess. The movable contact piece actuator swingable with the swinging movement of the operation button causes the movable contact piece to be swung to the switch-on position where the movable contact thereof comes into contact with a fixed contact mounted on a fixed contact piece or the switch-off position where the movable contact is away from the fixed contact. The movable contact piece actuator and the movable contact piece operate as if they are linked, and the movable contact piece swings by the rolling friction. Accordingly, feeling in actuation of the operation button becomes much favorable, the operation of the rocker switch is stable, and more quick reverse operation of the movable contact piece is ensured.

    • This invention discloses a rocker switch which provides a reliable movement and a heat-resistant rocker switch by redesigning the position holding mechanism. The rocker switch of the invention comprises: a common contact point, a close circuit contact point, a movable contact point permanently coupled to the common contact point, a rocking switch connecting to the movable contact point and rocking between a close circuit position and an open circuit position, and a position holding mechanism having a spring and an extension rod coupled to one end of the spring. The extension rod is used to change the position of the force acting between the spring and the rocking button and the force acting on the spring in order to improve the life of the spring and increase heat resistance.

    • A switch mechanism module for a switch including a first housing member, a second housing member, and an operating mechanism between the first and second housing members. The first housing member has first and second integral stops depending therefrom, and the second housing member has first and second integral legs depending therefrom. The operating mechanism rotates upon rotation of the handle of the switch causing rotation of the rotor of the switch. Movement of the operating mechanism ceases upon engagement of the operator cam with the stop of the first housing member.     • A compliant, bistable mechanism has a plurality of segments coupled end-to-end in a series to form a continuous chain of segments. The plurality of segments includes at least two rigid segments and at least one relatively flexible and resilient segment. Adjacent rigid segments are coupled by flexible joints or pin joints.
