摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a crank shedding motion capable of producing a difference in speed of vertical motion in front and rear of the maximum shedding positions of an upper and a lower heald frames without increasing a load applied to a prime mover of a loom and thereby producing woven fabric excellent in suitability of fabric, touch feeling, etc., in a loom using the crank shedding motion. CONSTITUTION: This crank shedding motion comprises a crank 1 rotating in synchronism with weaving operations, an interlocking lever 3 having one end installed connectedly through a connecting rod 2 to the crank 1 and a pair of lifting and lowering members 5 for driving heald frames installed connectedly to the other end of the interlocking lever 3. The crank shedding motion is capable of changing an included angle between the interlocking lever 3 and an interlocking link 4 due to the shaking of the interlocking lever 3 during one revolution of the crank 1 within 90 deg. and setting the length of the connecting rod 2 so as to provide a prescribed value to the dimensional relationship between the shaking speed of either of the lifting and lowering members 5 in front and rear of the first position where the connecting point 1/2 between the crank 1 and the connecting rod 2, the center of rotation (1.0) of the crank 1 and the connecting point 2/3 between the connecting rod 2 and the interlocking lever 3 lie on one straight line and the shaking speed of the other of the lifting and lowering members 5 in front and rear of the second position where the connecting point 1/2, the center of rotation (1.0) of the crank 1 and the connecting point 2/3 similarly lie on one straight line.

Harness cords connect the Jacquard hooks to the heddles and to a movably supported member in the dobby. The coordinated movements of the Jacquard hooks will effect a simultaneous movement of the movably supported member in the dobby so that operations of the Jacquard machine in response to the information on the pattern card will simultaneously effect an operation of the dobby.

In addition, fabric weakening is disclosed according to a technique that does not result in physical alteration of the fabric. This invention therefore includes an air bag cover for an air bag safety system for a vehicle comprising a fabric outer layer having a frontside and a backside and a substrate containing an opening wherein the opening has a periphery. The substrate is preferably formed by low pressure molding, wherein the fabric outer layer overlies the opening in the substrate, and wherein the fabric outer layer is weakened at a location that is adjacent or overlies the substrate opening periphery.
