摘要： A carrier (10) for securely retaining one or more objects is provided, cut and scored from a unitary blank of paperboard or similar foldable sheet material so that it can be folded into two overlying panels (16, 18) and then manually fastened so that one panel is characteristically bowed away from the other to form an interior space. This bowed panel has at least one unshaped mouth opening (79) into this interior space, cut through the bowed panel face and large enough to allow an object to be loosely inserted through it with one-hand and retained therein for storage or transport. Also, the carrier can be attached to the surface of selected articles with an adhesive strip (60) applied to the back of the carrier or by using a standard pronged fastener (50) that extends through openings provided in the carrier's back panel or some other suitable attachment device.

摘要： A system for the storage and retrieval of optical discs contains a tiltable inner housing having grooves on upper and lower walls for holding discs by their edges in a vertical orientation. A portal element, formed with a vertical slot for loading and retrieving dics, is movable across the front of the outer housing into alignment with individual disc positions of the inner housing. Flexible shutters are attached to the portal element, maintaining the entire front of the outer housing closed, except for the portal opening. The inner housing has a stable position, tilted slightly to the rear, causing the discs to roll to storage position at the back. A selected disc can be retrieved by tilting the inner housing forwardly, causing the discs to roll forwardly. All discs except the selected disc, aligned with the portal slot, are held back by the flexible shutter, while the selected disc is allowed to roll through the portal slot to an exposed retrieval position.

Devices include containers designed to contain and/or mitigate high energy events such as blasts from explosions or thermal runaways. The containers include a body that is built to define an interior chamber shaped to receive an explosive device or a device susceptible to thermal runaway. The container comprises a plurality of substructures that are arranged in a layered sequence to provide the desired effect. The substructures act in concert to decouple the shock load to the main containment structure using shock decoupling with energy dissipation and attenuation technology, having a highly deformable polymer structure, and managed venting. In thermally dominated events, such as a runaway LI battery fire, a crushable medium present in one or more layers of the container presents a significant thermal barrier and contains the fire.
