    • It is known to apply processing solution to photographic material using a high speed moving surface. High speed rotating drums have been used to transfer processing solution from a reservoir to the material. Horizontal belts are also known. However, such arrangements require large volumes of processing solution in order to operate effectively. Described herein is a processor (1) comprising a vertically mounted high speed belt (10) which both transfers processing solution (26) from a reservoir (20) onto photographic paper being processed, and provides agitation at the paper surface. Two transport belts (30, 32) are provided, one on either side of the belt (10) to assist in the transport of paper through the apparatus. An arrangement according to the invention has the advantages that only low volumes of processing solutions are required, good surface agitation is provided, and it can be fitted into conventional photographic processing apparatus.

    • A developer apparatus is provided for developing exposed diazotype copy sheets comprising an applicator roller (30), a fountain (50) and wick (52) for supplying liquid developer to the applicator roller, a metering blade (90) for wiping excessive liquid from the applicator roller and a pressure blade (166) for pressing a copy sheet against the surface of the applicator roller to transfer liquid from the applicator roller to the copy sheet. Prior art metering and pressure blades pivot into and out of engagement with the applicator roller and are complex and require independent adjustment of the blades for each different type of copy media. The metering and pressure blades of this invention are arranged for sliding movement between an inoperative position ineffective to develop the copy sheet and an operative position in pressure engagement with the applicator roller. This sliding movement minimizes the torque requirements for positioning the blades against the applicator roller and provides for increased adjustment so that a single setting of the blades can be used with different types of copy media. Cam (100, 176) and linkage control is provided for sequentially moving the blades between the inoperative and operative positions under control of a manually operable actuating lever (140).
