    • The object of the invention is a process for stabilising holographic substrate materials based on gelatines. According to the invention, a bleaching bath is added to the substrate material after (i) exposure, (ii) development and (iii) interruption at a pH of at least 3 or more, before, after (v) washing, (vi) fixing, (vii) further washing and (viii) a final bath, (ix) the substrate material is dehydrated by the use of one or more successive baths containing a water-miscible solvent which does not affect the hardened gelatine structure. In another emdodiment, the invention relates to light-deflecting wall components for buildings, consisting of a holographic substrate material obtainable by the above process on a transparent or opaque substrate. Silverless holographic substrate materials can be produced using the present invention.
