    • The invention relates to a chain for sawing through an object, in particular an object located in or on the water, such as a ship, drilling platform, bridge, pipeline, etc. The chain is a link chain. The links are provided with a machining surface coating. Said machining surface coating can comprise grit grains, in particular hard metal grit grains. The grit grains can have a size in the range from 4 to 10 mm and can be applied to the links by hard soldering. In particular, each link can consist of two U-shaped end parts with, between them, a body having a peripheral surface with the machine surface coating running in the longitudinal direction of the link concerned. The invention further relates to a sawing installation for sawing through an object located in or on the water, in which installation amongst other things a chain according to the invention is used.

    • A rotary cutting machine comprises a circular rotating element having a transverse axis of rotation and which is mounted to the rotary cutting machine for rotation about the axis of rotation. A plurality of cutting teeth are mounted to the circular rotating element at spaced apart locations about its circumferential periphery. The cutting teeth are reversible and removably fastened to the circular rotating element. Each cutting tooth includes opposed first and second cutting faces spaced apart by lateral surfaces extending therebetween. The first and second cutting faces define at least four of the cutting edges thereon, such that the cutting teeth are selectively mountable on the circular rotating element in any one of at least eight different positions, each of the positions providing a different one of the cutting edges in the operable cutting position.

    • A saw blade is provided which includes an inner collar separated from an outer collar with a resilient isolated layer. The inner collar fastens to the arbor shaft of a driving motor, while the outer collar is welded to the rim containing hardened particles, such as diamond bits. The inner and outer collars form inner and outer collar flanges which receive the resilient isolating material therebetween. In an alternative embodiment, the inner and outer collars are separated from one another with a plurality of plugs formed of resilient isolating material. The plurality of plugs are formed in a circular pattern about the arbor shaft and are spaced apart from one another. In another embodiment, a vibration dampening coupler is fastened to the arbor shaft and formed separate from the cutting blade. The isolating resilient layer may be formed as a solid layer, as a plurality of O-rings, or with a void therein.
