摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternator for an automobile that reduces the risk of damaging a magnet, and can fix the magnet without requiring minute manufacturing error tolerance. SOLUTION: Two pole pieces 16 with a nib-shaped pole 10 and a magnet 20 are provided. The nib-shaped pole 10 has grooves 18 along an axial line 21, and at the same time the grooves 18 accommodate the magnet 20, and completely prevent the magnet 20 from deviating from the grooves 18 at right angles to the axial line 21. Each magnet 20 is provided with a flat plate 24 which is fitted and inserted between either an outer-peripheral surface 25 or an inner-peripheral surface 27 of the magnet 20 and at least one of the grooves 18, and the flat plate 24 is formed of a material softer than the magnet 20.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize double excitation by a permanent magnet and an excitation coil without use of expensive semiconductor switching bridge. SOLUTION: A means for selective formation of a magnetic closed circuit includes at least one permanent magnet 225 for excitation, to generate magnetic flux which is closed by itself in the circumference direction of a rotor 2 and at least one excitation coil 215, 216 to generate the local variable magnetic flux in the circumference direction opposite to the magnetic flux generated by such a magnet. The magnet 225 is accommodated in a first rotor 22 forming a first pair of rotor poles, a coil is wound around the second rotor 21, of which end portion is forming a second pair of rotor poles and the rotor is provided with a third rotor 23 forming a magnetic transfer path in the circumference direction between the adjacent first rotor 22 and the second rotor 21, together with the first rotor and second rotor.

One of two magnet wheels is regarded as the N pole and the other as the S pole. Magnet parts 20 are polarized to the N and S poles along the direction extending from one side surface to the other. The magnet parts 20 are made up of magnets 24 equal in shape and dimensions. The magnets 24 are separated from each other, and are directly locked with sticking layers 26 formed with a material having larger flexibility than the magnet parts 20. This structure can reduce the risk of damaging the magnet parts.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a starter by adapting it to be stopped when a new wave is no longer detected in signals in the last duration of monitor times which are newly ensured upon a new wave in signals and have a shorter time width as the frequency of the wave gets higher. SOLUTION: During the starting stage of an engine, a control unit receives a voltage of which frequency gets higher as the engine speed increases. The voltage is filtered by a low-pass filter 7, and is removed with its direct-current components in a stage 8. The alternate-current signal thus obtained is converted into positive pulses of a constant amplitude with the same time width as negative pulses in a stage 9, and are then passed to a pulse generator 10 and a timer 11. The pulse generator 10 generates short pulses at the leading edges of pulses of the input signal to reset times produced by the timer 11. The times get other pulses shorter than the preceding pulses at every their resetting respectively. The control unit holds its contact closed during the time duration produced by waves in the signal, and opens its contact upon the absence of a resetting pulse by the starting of the engine.
