    • A method of flash/butt welding an aluminum bicycle wheel rim (10) in which an aluminum sleeve (20) having a dielectric anodized hardcoat surface finish is inserted into the center of the rim (10) in order to support the interior walls of the rim during the welding process, is disclosed. The walls of a wheel rim (10) or other similar metal profile defines an inner space in a tubular section of the rim (10). The sleeve (20) is partially inserted into a first end of the rim (10) and partially inserted into a second end of the rim (10). During the welding process, an electric current flows across a small space or gap between the two ends. The electric current melts the ends, at which time the two ends are pressed together in order to forge them into a single piece. The metal sleeve (20) supports the inner walls of the profile in order to prevent collapse of the wall during welding. Due to the dielectric coating, the sleeve does not affect the welding circuit.

    • A bicycle including a forward frame triangle. The forward frame triangle can a top tube, a down tube, a bottom bracket, a lower seat mast, and an upper seat mast. The top tube can have a first end connected to a head tube and a second end. The down tube can have a first end connected to the head tube and a second end. The bottom bracket can be connected to the second end of the down tube. The lower seat mast can extend in an upward direction from the bottom bracket to the top tube. The upper seat mast can at least partially overlap the lower seat mast. The upper seat mast can be adjustably and fixedly coupled to the lower seat mast. The upper seat mast can be rotably coupled to the forward frame triangle proximate the second end of the top tube.
