    • The invention refers to a method and a system for enhancing the measuring accuracy in an antenna array (1), where the method comprises the steps of; a) receiving analog signals on all antenna elements (2) at a first time t1; producing first values for a first radiation diagram from the values in the signals from the first time (t1), and; finding the maximum point (8) for the first values, b)—reducing the signal from one interadjacent antenna element (2) at a second time (t2); receiving analog signals on all antenna elements (2) except from the one switched off or reduced antenna element, and; producing second values for a second radiation diagram from the values in the signals from the second time (t2); c) rejecting all values outside a first range (9) calculated from the first values, and; finding the maximum point (8) for the second values.

    • A minimum value or range for a transmit power gain factor is determined that controls the transmit power level over an enhanced uplink data channel relative so as to ensure delivery of a minimum data service requirement over the enhanced uplink data channel. The minimum value or range for the enhanced uplink data channel power gain factor may be determined based on a selected enhanced uplink transmission format and/or a maximum number of allowable transmission attempts over the enhanced uplink data channel for a communications session so that the required Quality of Service (QoS) for the communications session can be fulfilled and an expected uplink coverage gain can be reached. The minimum value or range for the enhanced uplink data channel power gain factor is also compatible with other techniques to increase enhanced uplink coverage such as autonomous retransmission and improved L2 techniques.

The supporting radio base station (100) comprises an IQ sample transmitter (120) for transmitting the complementary IQ samples to the serving radio base station (200) to enable the serving radio base station to decode user data of the uplink transmission based on the complementary IQ samples together with own IQ samples provided by the serving radio base station (200). This will provide significant savings of bit rate for the exchange of IQ samples between the radio base stations.
