    • A half hinge paint masking cover for doors, and/or door frames is provided as a one piece body molded of a rigid thermoplastic resin. The device includes two molded half cavities each cavity being connected by a thin flexible membrane of the molded material. The first cavity area covers the back surface area of the hinge barrel and has two half end shields each of which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel and the exposed edge area of the hinge plate. The second cavity half covers the front surface half of the hinge barrel and has two end shields which cover half the edge area of the hinge barrel. A portion connected to the second cavity half includes a long flat area which covers the exposed face side of the hinge plate. The two half cavities are secured to each other by folding along the flexible membrane and engulfing the door or frame half hinge until pins projecting from tops on one half engage and protrude through holes which are located on tabs on the other half.

    • A stretching frame for a fabric material provides for spring mounting of the four frame sides. The frame sides are tubular. At each corner of the frame is a bracket which slides within the adjacent frame tubes. A tensioning device at each end of each of the frame sides may be set to provide an appropriate urging force by tensioning a spring. Each side has a slot for insertion of the fabric edge and a locking rod to hold the fabric edge in place within the slot. The frame may be used for a range of fabric sizes by changing spring length or characteristic used for tension development. In use as a silk-screen, the side forces applied to the fabric during the printing stroke is taken up by the springs such that a minimal amount of distortion is experienced by the fabric and stencil thereon.

    • A compact attic mounted solar heating pack assembly includes an enclosed sheet metal plenum fixedly hung by straps from the attic rafters at the apex of north and south facing roofing sections. An electric powered blower fixed to the plenum has an air inlet open to the attic interior below the south facing roof section. An air outlet of the blower opens directly to the plenum interior. A plurality of flexible ducts are coupled to respective air outlets within the plenum at one end with their opposite ends terminating in diffusers mountable within holes formed within the underlying ceiling for delivering air from the plenum chamber directly to the building interior below the attic floor. A first normally open cooling thermostat is mounted within the attic at the apex, beneath the south facing roof section. A plastic heat barrier is hung from the ridge pole and extends well below the plenum chamber to trap heated air within the section of the attic beneath the south facing wall. A second heating thermostat is mounted within the building interior below the ceiling and preferably on an interior partition wall and is series connected with the blower motor and the first attic mounted thermostat and connectable to a source of electrical current. The normally open thermostat closes when room heat is needed and the temperature in the attic is above 70 degrees to provide an effective independent supplementary heating unit for the building.

    • A lens includes a medium which absorbs laser radiation that may be harmful to the eye or other high gain optics, raising its temperature and thereby changing its index of refraction, which causes a phase change in the radiation passing therethrough. The medium may be periodically bounded by thermal sinks, thereby providing a periodic differential in temperature rise, may be provided in a length which varies periodically or may have a density of absorbing material which varies periodically, thereby to have a periodic absorption characteristic. The periodicity, which may be regular or random, provides a periodic variation in total phase change, which causes interference (thermal blooming) that disperses the radiation sufficiently to lower the intensity at the retinal spot below that which would cause damage. Eyeglasses with mutually perpendicular periodicity provide degraded vision of useful images while being protected from harmful radiation.

Changing the angle of inclination between the branches of the wire rod angle arms permits alternate mounting of the U-shaped brackets to the rear wall or top wall of the mower deck.
