    • Method and means for fixing together building components, such as two skins of a cavity wall (10, 11). The components are "tied" together using a rod (13), inserted into holes (17, 18) drilled through the two components, on which are positioned a sleeve (20) such that it spans the cavity between the building components and three washers (22, 24, 26). The sleeve and washers are movable relative to each other and have ports (21, 23, 25, 27) which may be axially aligned to allow passage of a feeder pipe (28) for injecting binder (15) into the holes around the rod, or may be moved into disalignment to effect seals to prevent the binder from escaping from the holes.

    • This invention relates to improvements in the method and means of fixing anchors in building components having voids therein.
      Problems however are created in securing anchors in such components because of the lack of support on the anchor in the region of the voids.
      A method of fixing an anchor (10) in a cavity (6) in a building component (5) comprising the steps of forming a first bore (7) in the building component, said bore having a mouth in a wall of said cavity, positioning a sleeve member on an anchor rod (11), inserting said rod into the bore such that an orifice (17) in the outer wall of the sleeve member (12) is positioned adjacent said cavity wall, which wall is at an angle to the axis of the anchor rod, injecting a hardenable material (19) into the sleeve such that some of the material escapes from the said orifice into the cavity and forms a plug adjacent the said cavity wall, which when hardened prevents the anchor from being withdrawn from said building component.
