    • The subject invention relates to the compositions for radiolabeling Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic Acid (DTPA)-dextran with Technetium-99m and for stabilizing the DTPA-dextran Cold Kit. The composition contains Stannous Chloride ions to reduce 99m Tc-pertechnetate, Ascorbic Acid to reduce stannic ions to stannous ions to maintain a reducing environment, α,α-Trehalose to add bulk and to stabilize the lyophilized composition without interfering with the radiochemical yield, and Glycine to transchelate Technetium-99m under highly acidic conditions to facilitate radiolabeling DTPA-dextran with high radiochemical purity. In addition, the invention pertains to methods for making and using the compositions. The reconstitution of the lyophilized composition by 99m Tc-pertechnetate, resulting in radiolabeled 99m Tc- DTPA-dextran in a composition between pH 3 to 4. This invention contains a Diluent vial, which when used will shift the pH to a moderately acidic pH, which would provide less pain on injection and ease-of-use to clinical practioners for adjusting its potency.

The assembly provides photon absorption comparable to a monolithic crystal having a thickness generally equivalent to the sum of the thicknesses of the crystal slices (20), but at a lower bias voltage.

    • A detector particularly suited for use in immuno-guided surgery capable of detecting very faint gamma emissions and thereby localizing cancerous tumor. The detector employs a hand manipular probe (12) within which is contained a crystal (60 Fig. 2) such as cadmium telluride which is secured in a light tight compressively restrained environment employing compliant yet conductive components which also serve to exhibit varying accoustical impedance to impinging microphonic effects. A preamplifier is incorporated within the probe device itself which employs an integrator stage front end combining a field effect transistor and bipolar device with a very small feedback capacitance of less than one picofarad. A bootstrap technique is utilized to enhance the amplification of the bipolar amplification stage. Pulse related signals outputted from the device are normalized and compared to produce pulse data which are analyzed. In one mode of operation a siren effect is employed to guide the surgeon towards emission sources.
