摘要： A titanium alloy composite material according to the present invention is characterized by dispersing carbon fibers coated with a layer containing an element which forms carbide in reaction with carbon and the carbide formed thereby in crystal grains of the titanium alloy. The element which forms carbide in reaction with carbon is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of silicon (Si), chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti), vanadium (V), tantalum (Ta), molybdenum (Mo), zirconium (Zr), boron (B) and calcium (Ca). The carbon fibers are preferably carbon nanotubes, vapor-grown carbon fibers or a mixture thereof. The titanium alloy composite material according to the present invention has excellent mechanical strength such as tensile strength, Young's modulus, toughness and hardness.

摘要： A setting machine of the invention for transplanting plugged seedlings of a vegetable in a field along predetermined transplantation ridges is used in combination with seedling culturing trays of a synthetic resin having cells as through bores. This machine includes an extraction unit supporting the seedling culturing trays and adapted to take out the seedlings selectively and sequentially from the opened bottom portions of predetermined cells, the extraction unit being provided with selecting members each of which has a selection bore capable of being positioned two-dimensionally in a plane parallel to the bottom surface of a seedling culturing tray and of being aligned with the cell in the seedling culturing tray. The machine further includes a transportation unit adapted to forcibly transport a withdrawn seedling by sucking the same in a vacuum to a predetermined position, and a transplanting unit adapted to transplant the resultant seedling in the earth along a predetermined transplantation ridge. This machine is adapted to mechanically and completely carry out all the operations from a seedling withdrawing to a seedling transplantation and capable of improving the operation efficiency, especially, in an operation of transplanting seedlings in a plurality of ridges, and of saving power to a remarkable extent.

摘要： A method of enhancing the naturally developed colour of an anodic oxidation coat chemically produced on an Al alloy in which the coat is formed by electrolysis employing a warmed electrolyte of sulphuric acid and an alternating current the polarity of which is periodically reversed to be negative for a period of 10-20% of each cycle while being applied to the Al alloy dipped in the electrolyte as an anode for 20 to 40 minutes. The thus coated Al alloy is subjected to a heat treatment in a boiling sealing liquid for 20 minutes. During each negative polarity period of the current, electrolytic reduction takes place on the Al alloy (which is acting as a cathode), whereby sulphur in the electrolyte reacts with the added alloy element of the Al alloy to form a sulphide of the alloy element. The alloy metal sulphide thus formed is accumulated in the coat and, during the heat treatment, the alloy metal sulphide accumulated is further combined with the alloy element in the form of metallic ion to further develop the colour of the coat.
