    • PURPOSE: To improve the metallurgical nature of a casting mold member by moving a heating chamber or cooling melt liquid in such a manner that the heating chamber comes into contact with the thermally insulating layer or is immersed therein before a casting mold penetrates the thermally insulating layer and is immersed into the cooling melt liquid. CONSTITUTION: The casting mold 5 is filled with molten metal and when solidification is started by determining the direction, a crucible 8 having the cooling melt liquid 10 is moved upwardly until the bottom end of the heating chamber 6 is immersed slightly into the thermally insulating layer 13 by the ascending of a carrier on a vertical guide member 12. Then, a visually visible separation occurs between the inside of the heating chamber 6 and the cooling melt liquid 10. In succession, the downward movement of a plunger 2 is started and a pulling up chamber 1 having a stop frame 3 descends. The casting mold 5 gradually penetrates the thermally insulting layer 13 and is immersed into the cooling melt liquid 10. The downward movement of the pulling up chamber 1 is continued at the length until the casting mold 5 is completely immersed into the cooling melt liquid and the casting member in the casting mold is solidified.

    • A crucible (9) surrounded by an induction coil (10) is housed for tilting about a first tilt axis within a gas-tight furnace chamber (2) which has a closable opening (40a) for transferring the melt (31) into a receiving vessel (36, 63). The furnace chamber (2) is in turn tiltable about a second tilt axis (A2) between a melting position and a position in which the start of the pouring of the melt is immediately imminent by an angle which corresponds to the range of the tilting angle of the crucible (9). The opening (40a) for transferring the melt is surrounded by a first sealing flange (41) which, after the tilting path of the furnace chamber (2) has been traveled, comes sealingly into contact with a second sealing flange (38, 64) of an additional gas-tight chamber (35, 61) in which the receiving vessel (36, 63) for the melt is situated.
