    • A method for measuring the characteristics of an analyte in body fluid or an indicator using a system including a meter and a test sensor container is provided to automatically adjust the measuring system and maintain the number of steps required for a user minimally. The method comprises the steps of: (a) measuring at least one quantity showing the characteristics of an analyte in body fluid or an indicator; (b) polling a test sensor container; (c) transmitting the information from the test sensor container to the meter wirelessly if the polling is successful; and (d) calculating the characteristics of the analyte in body fluid or the indicator using the quantity and the information, wherein the step(c) is completed before the step(d) starts. The method further comprises the steps of: (e) comparing two quantities showing the characteristics of the analyte or the indicator; (f) displaying the request of "sample supply"; and (g) performing a meter initiation routine.

Acceptable fill data from known first current and known second current are used to predict an estimated second current at proximate the second time period during the test sequence. The estimated second current at proximate the second time interval is then compared with a measured actual second current at proximate the second time interval during an actual test to determine sufficient volume of the physiological fluid sample in the test strip.
