    • Die Erfindung betrifft einen Mittel- oder Endbefestigungsteil für kettenförmige Energieleitungsträger (Ke) zwischen einem stationären Leitungsanschluß und einem beweglichen Verbraucher, bestehend aus zwei parallelen und senkrecht zu einer An- oder Auflage (An, Au) an dem Leitungsanschluß oder dem Verbraucher anzuordnenden und mit der An- oder Auflage verbundenen Wangen (1, 2; 51), mit denen die Seitenteile (A, Aʹ) der ersten oder der letzten Kettenglieder (G) oder der Kettenmittelglieder des kettenförmigen Energieträgers (Ke) verbunden sind. - Er ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die einteiligen Wangen (1, 2; 51) des Befestigungsteils (F) aus Kunststoff bestehen und mitels Schrauben (16) unmittelbar mit der An- oder Auflage verbunden sind, wobei die Schrauben die Wangen (1, 2;51) über mindestens 1/4 der Wangenhöhe (H) gegen die An- oder Auflgage (An, Au) (17) verspannen.

    • A system for cooling a single or plural zones of the exterior of a furnace or similar hot device, e.g., kiln, calciner, etc. Each zone is cooled by a respective cooling assembly. The operation of the assemblies is effected by a common control system. Each cooling assembly comprises a shroud, an induction cooler, e.g., an exhaust fan, and at least one atomizing spray nozzle. The shroud is in the form of a jacket disposed over the associated exterior zone of the furnace and is spaced therefrom to form a cooling chamber therebetween. The exhaust fan is coupled to the shroud for inducing the flow of cooling air through the cooling chamber so that it absorbs heat from furnace's exterior. The atomizing spray nozzle is also coupled to the shroud and to a water and an air supply for introducing atomized droplets of water into the chamber, whereupon the droplets vaporize to absorb heat from the furnace's exterior. The exhaust fan vents the air and steam from the shroud means. A controller controls the operation of each cooling assembly pursuant to feed-back signals from respective thermal sensors mounted in each cooling assembly.

    • A self supporting cable carrier in the form of a flexible tube for fully enclosing the cable to protect it from damage as well as to support it. The flexible tube comprises a plurality of segments or links coupled to each other successively and pivotable relative to each other a limited amount. The segments are constructed so that they can etend in a straight line and can pivot from this straight line in one direction but not in the other direction. As a result the carrier can carry the cable along a curve in one direction but a span of tubing extending across a space cannot collapse since the segments cannot pivot in that direction. This arrangement makes the carrier self supporting along such span. The segments are formed of molded plastic with each segment having a pair of bosses extending inwardly from its trailing portion and a pair of complementary openings in its forward portion for receiving the bosses from the adjoining segment to couple the two segments together. The bosses are dimensioned so that they are pivotable a limited amount within their cooperating openings to render the entire segment pivotable such limited amount relative to its adjacent segment. Moreover, the bosses and their cooperating openings are completely covered when the segments are assembled to eliminate pinch points and fully protect the coupling.
