    • A copper alloy pipe for water/hot water supply, equipped with a protective film on the inner surface thereof includes a pipe main body made of a copper alloy containing at least 0.02 wt.%, in total, of at least one of Zn and Mn, not greater than 5 wt.% of Zn, not greater than 3 wt.% of Mn and the balance of copper and unavoidable impurities, and a protective film disposed on the inner surface of this copper alloy pipe main body and consisting of Sn and unavoidable impurities. The protective film has a mean thickness of 0.2 to 4 mu m in the circumferential direction of the pipe. The protective film may comprise Sn, an intermetallic compound of Sn and Cu and unavoidable impurities or may comprise the intermetallic compound of Sn and Cu and unavoidable impurities. In either case, Cu3Sn must not exist substantially on the surface of the protective film. Such a copper alloy pipe can restrict the formation of an epsilon phase that causes pitting in the surface of the protective film, can prevent elution of the copper ions and can improve pitting resistance.
