    • Disclosed is a freeze-drying apparatus for foodstuffs, medicaments, etc., wherein liquid material is directly and distributively poured into upright cylindrical tubes, then, in its isolated state from external atmosphere for perfect sterilization, the liquid material is frozen with uniform thickness onto inner wall surface of the tubes, with further possibility of uniform heating of the freeze-dried layer.     • By directly distributing liquid material into upright cylindrical tubes, such liquid material for foodstuffs, medicaments, etc. is kept in its state of being isolated from external atmosphere so as to be perfectly sterilized. That is to say, while simply and adequately securing the controlled cooling of the tube, by means of the heat medium which circulates within the jacket, the liquid material supplied into the tube is caused to freeze with uniform thickness onto the inner wall surface of the tube, with further possibility of uniform heating of the freeze-dried layer. The main body part of this freeze-drying apparatus is assembled with upright cylindrical tubes for freezing liquid material onto the inner wall surface of the tube and jackets to surround the outer periphery of each of the tubes surrounding the tubes in a substantially concentric outer cylindrical shape, within which to circulate the heat medium; then, on the upper end side of these tubes in this main body part, there is connected a duct which communicates to the vacuum exhaust system; while, on the lower end side of the tubes, there is connected a recovery chamber provided with an opening-and-closing valve, or equipped with a valve on the bottom part thereof; and, on the upper part of the lower part of the tube, there is defined an inlet port, through which the liquid material is fed into the inner cavity of the tube, the inlet port being formed contiguous to the downstream side of the tube-passageway for feeding the liquid material.

According to the present invention, liquid material is caused to freeze as a molded frozen body in the form of a cylinder following the shape of the inner wall surface of the tube; then, the water content in the material of the molded frozen body is sublimated under the vacuum condition, to cause it to dry in a freeze-drying apparatus, wherein a discharge port is defined at the lower end side of the tube, and jet nozzles are disposed, in the inner wall surface of the tube, for ejecting compressed air or gas toward the inner bore or space of the tube, thereby crushing and pulverizing the molded frozen body of liquid material as freeze-dried by freezing the liquid material within the tube, by jet current ejected from the jet nozzles.

    • The present invention is directed to a starting material adjusting apparatus for preparing the starting materials in the form of slurry, wherein no use is made of an agitator which is expensive in its installation cost and troublesome in its cleaning, thereby making it possible to perfectly dissolve the starting materials into solvent, and to obtain homogeneous slurry as a whole, in a short period of time.
      The construction and function of such starting material adjusting apparatus are as follows: a material blending tank 1 is formed in a pressure-resistant, and tightly closable vessel, in its inner cavity, into which predetermined quantities of starting materials are charged, followed by hermetically sealing the tank; a material adjusting tank 2 is formed in a large size, into which a predetermined quantity of solvent is filled so as to be able to pump out from its bottom part by means of a pump P; the pump P functioning to pressure-feeding the solvent pumped out of the material adjusting tank 2 into the inner cavity of the material blending tank 1 through its bottom side. In the course of the pressure-feeding of the solvent, when the air within the material blending tank 1 is compressed to a high pressure level, the operation of the pump P is stopped and the solvent which has been pressure-fed into the material blending tank 1 is subjected to reverse flow through the inner cavity of the pump P into the material adjusting tank 2 by the pressure of the air compressed in the material blending tank 1. Subsequently, the process steps of: the pressure-feeding of the solvent into the material blending tank 1 due to re-starting of the pump P; and the reverse flow of the solvent into the material adjusting tank 2 due to stoppage of the pump P are repeated for a plurality of number of times to dissolve the starting materials into the solvent, thereby making it into slurry.
