CONSTITUTION: When a textile material is placed on a base plate and the position is detected by a sensor, the material 20 is automatically pressed downward by a lower plate 24 to press a part of the material 20 under a folding plate 18 and an upper plate 26 to press the material 20 against the folding plate 18, the folding plate 18 is moved by a prescribed distance across the lower plate 24 and the upper plate 26 gives frictional resistance to the motion to form pleats on the material. The material is pressed to fix the pleated form, the folding plate is removed together with the upper plate and the lower plate and the pleated material is sewn.

CONSTITUTION: A programmable controller 100 controls the operation of a stepper motor and a distance that a division clamp 74 moves. The controller 100 sends signals for stopping the stepper motor when a second belt loop attaching position reaches a sewing station. The cylinder output shaft 95 of a sewing clamp assembly 90 is moved to a clamp plate and locks the trousers at a prescribed position. A second belt loop is supplied to the second belt loop attaching position. While a workpiece holding clamp is stretched and pressed onto the belt loop, the output shaft 95 of the cylinder is withdrawn. Then, the second belt loop is sewn.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for dividing the waistband of trousers (W) in belt-loop fastening positions at the sewing station of a sewing machine are disclosed. A stepping motor (84) is connected as a drive to a divider clamping device (70) which comes into engagement with the end portion of the trouser waistband. The stepping motor drives a divider clamping device (70) and draws the trouser waistband through the sewing station (12). A detector (40, 44) records the presence of a waistband seam and transmits a signal to a control device (100) which coordinates the position of the side seam as a reference point with the desired fastening positions of belt loops. Whenever one of the successive belt-fastening positions arrives at the sewing station, the control device (100) transmits a stop signal to the stepping motor (84). The control device (100) actuates a belt-loop feed system which feeds a belt loop to the sewing station. The belt loops are fixed to the trouser waistband by means of press feet. The belt loops are sewn to the trouser waistband when one of the successive belt-loop fastening positions arrives at the sewing station.

摘要： The appts. to align and position fabric workpieces, for a sewing machine, has a mechanism to move the fabric along the X-co-ordinate axis along a path to a given X-co-ordinate position on a working surface, while a further mechanism positions the fabric at a given Y-co-ordinate position. A stationary alignment unit is in the path of the two alignment mechanisms, acting with them to give a simultaneous alignment of the fabric in the X and Y directions. Two sensors, one each at the X and Y position, are fixed in place. A further sensor registers the presence of the fabric on the working surface. The X and Y sensors and/or the fabric sensor are linked to a control. ADVANTAGE - The appts. gives a rapid and accurate alignment and positioning of the fabric, before it is passed to the sewing machine for stitching.
