    • A hole in a road, airfield runway or in the ground is filled or partly filled by partly filling the hole with a plurality of separate bodies of concrete, rock or other solid material, and filling interstices between the separate bodies and wholly or partially filling the remaining space in the hole with a hardenable mixture of cold setting synthetic resin and filler, which hardenable mixture sets and bonds firmly to the surfaces of the separate bodies. Preferably, before the hardenable mixture is introduced, a flexible fluid--impermeable covering is applied over the partly-filled hole and is sealed to the surrounding ground surface to form a fluid-tight enclosure, and air is evacuated from the enclosure.

    • 420,325. Cheese presses. MILNE, J., 60, High Street, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. Aug. 16, 1933, No. 22905. [Class 84] A cheese press in which a plunger 9 applies pressure to curd in a perforated vessel 1 has a coil spring 8 interposed between the top of the plunger 9 and a cross - piece 6, which is adapted to be adjustably positioned above the vessel 1 by arms 4 extending down therefrom and adapted to be releasably engaged at a number of points with devices 3 secured to the sides of the vessels. In one form, the arms 4, which are perforated to engage the projections 3, are hinged to the cross-piece 6 and are kept in engagement with the projections 3, when the cross-piece has been depressed to the required extent by tension or torsion springs 7. In a modification, each of the arms 4 passes between a pair of lugs secured to the vessel 1, and is held in position by passing a pin through the perforation in the arm and through a hole in each of the lugs.
