The restraint apparatus comprises a first loop that fits over the animal's head and a second loop that is formed about the animal's torso when two straps are routed behind the animal's forelegs and releasably connected to a connecting assembly. The connecting assembly is equipped with at least one anchor member that releasably connects with a restraint member. The restraint member may be freestanding such as a leash or it may be attached to an anchorage. A method of restraining an animal is also provided.

摘要： A vehicle seat comprises a frame, a primary seat support secured to the frame, a seat back secured to the frame, and a child seat assembly secured to the frame. The child seat assembly comprises at least one panel, a harness, an adjustment assembly, and at least one guard member. The at least one panel is pivotable relative to the frame. The harness is configured to removably secure an occupant of the child seat assembly relative to the frame. The adjustment assembly is configured to provide adjustment of the harness and is positioned above a shoulder portion of the harness. The adjustment assembly comprises a pivoting member operable to selectively restrain movement of at least a portion of the harness. The at least one guard member is configured to deflect hair away from the adjustment assembly during sliding movement of the harness relative to the adjustment assembly.

The restraint apparatus (10) comprises a first loop (32) that fits over the animal's head (24) and a second loop (33) that is formed about the animal's torso when two straps are routed behind the animal's forelegs and releasably connected to a connecting assembly (14). The connecting assembly (14) is equipped with at least one anchor member (13) that releasably connects with a restraint member (28 and 29). 摘要： A rotary coupling to attach an infant seat to the passenger seat of a vehicle. This invention is a child-restraining device for mounting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that has at least one rigid member fixedly mounted in the bite between the passenger seat's seat portion and back portion. In particular, the child-restraining device of this invention has a child seat and at least one rotary coupling to attach the child seat to the rigid member. The rotary coupling is characterized by: a rigid hollow cylinder with two notches in one end, a piston that slides back and forth inside the cylinder, a spring to push the piston toward the notches; a means to prevent the piston from sliding out of the cylinder, and a means to attach the rotary coupling to the child seat. The coupling is operated by pushing the piston back within the cylinder and placing the rigid member in the cylinder's notches. Once in the notches, the piston is released and the spring exerts a force that holds the rigid member between the piston and the notches. The coupling can then be released by again pulling back the piston and removing the rigid member from the notches.

In the preferred embodiment, a spring bias slide cover mounted to the housing extends over a push button depressible to force a locking pawl apart from the tongue unlocking the tongue from the buckle. A spring normally urges the button lock against the push button limiting movement of the button but is yieldable to allow the button lock to be moved apart from the button.

摘要： A retractor for controlling the withdrawal of a belt therefrom actuated by movement of a locking bar extension. The retractor frame having a spring biased rotatably mounted spool wrappingly receives one end of the belt harness, the opposite end of the belt harness having fixed thereto either a buckle or a buckle tongue. Attached to a seat is a pivoting crotch stalk including either a buckle or a buckle tongue that receives the corresponding mating part of the buckle tongue combination which is attached to the buckle harness. A locking bar with attached extension is engageable with the ratchet shaped end plates of the spool to prevent further withdrawal of the belt harness. The pivoting crotch stalk engages the extension causing movement of the locking bar into contact with the ratchet shaped end placed, thereby preventing the spool from rotating to allow any further withdrawal of the belt harness. In an alternative embodiment, the locking bar extension extends into the slot of the buckle and upon insertion of the tongue causes movement of the locking bar into the ratchet wheel.

摘要： An emergency locking seatbelt retractor. The retractor includes a pivoting lock plate which can pivot through a limited arc during activation of a webbing sensor or a vehicle sensor. When the lock plate is in its quiescent position, a pin thereon operates to hold a lock bar out of engagement with ratchet teeth on the webbing spool, thereby allowing free rotation of the spool. If either or both of the webbing sensor and vehicle sensor are activated, the lock plate is caused to pivot, drawing the pin away from the lock bar and allowing the lock bar to engage the ratchet teeth, thereby locking the retractor. Additionally, the locking initiation mechanism (the lock plate) and the sensors are isolated from webbing withdrawal forces and may therefore be constructed of lightweight, inexpensive materials. The retractor includes a vehicle sensor which is effective in substantially eliminating any vertical motion of the sensor ball. This prevents the retractor from locking when it is subjected to a downward acceleration.

摘要： An anti-cinch automatic locking retractor. A web spool is rotatably mounted between a pair of upstanding walls. The spool includes a pair of flanges each having a plurality of locking teeth with the teeth spaced apart by an included angle. A pawl is pivotally mounted to the walls and is lockingly engagable with the teeth. A cam plate mounted adjacent the spool and rotatable therewith includes a cam surface extending through an angle greater than the teeth included angle to limit cinching of the web spool as the spool rotates to and from the locking position and through the included angle. An additional slack reducing mechanism is mounted to the seat frame opposite from the side of the retractor and includes a pivot member for automatically aligning the attached locking device when not in use.
