摘要： A low cost, thick duct tape having a multi-layer adhesive system and methods for making the duct tape are disclosed. The duct tape includes a backing having a first major surface and an opposing second major surface, a reinforcing material applied to the second major surface of the backing, an inner adhesive layer applied to the reinforcing material opposite the backing, and an outermost adhesive layer applied to the composite adhesive layer. The inner adhesive layer includes a first adhesive and an extender dispersed in the first adhesive, and the outermost adhesive layer includes a second adhesive that may be the same or different than the first adhesive.

The testing device includes a body defining a chamber having a first port in fluid communication with the chamber, a platform sealingly attached to the chamber and having an elongate opening or a plurality of openings therethrough as a second port of the chamber. The testing device further includes a frame removably mounted to the platform. The frame defines a perimeter that surrounds the second port and, when mounted to the platform, secures a test substrate thereunder against the platform with a fluid-tight seal. Methods for preparing a test sample and methods of operating the testing device are also disclosed.

The first substrate is continuous in both the machine and transverse directions. Each discrete piece of second substrate has a length oriented in the transverse direction and may be spaced a distance apart, in the machine direction, from each adjacent piece of second substrate. The first adhesion of the first PSA for each of the discrete pieces of second substrate is less than a second adhesion of the second PSA for a packaging material or packaging carton.

The transport assembly moves mailer blanks and/or mailers through the mailer folding apparatus. The one or more folding assemblies may each comprise a folding system (200) and a carriage system (110). The folding system may selectively allow for the folding of a mailer blank into a mailer. A carriage (130) of the carriage system may move the folding system longitudinally between different positions relative to the transport assembly. An engagement system (160) separate from the carriage system or integrated into the carriage system may engage and disengage the folding system with the transport system for selectively feeding a mailer blank through the folding system, or disengage the folding system for allowing a mailer blank or folded mailer to bypass the folding system.
