    • PURPOSE: A weight plate for a vacuum deposition apparatus and a vacuum deposition apparatus using the same are provided to carry out the stable transport of a shadow mask and a glass substrate by pressing the glass substrate onto the shadow mask by gravity. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum deposition apparatus comprises an evaporator, a joint carrier(500), and a transfer unit. In the joint carrier, a glass substrate is placed over a shadow mask and fixed to a holding member. A weight plate(109) is installed on the glass substrate so as to press and hold the glass substrate onto the shadow mask by gravity. The transfer unit transfers the joint carrier. The weight plate includes a buffer member which reduces an impact applied to the joint carrier in the in-plane direction of the glass substrate.

    • A small-sized display device having a holder (4) for holding a liquid crystal display panel and a frame (7) for accommodating the holder (4) is disclosed. Projecting portions (41) are formed in part of the holder (4) and are used as horizontal stoppers against the liquid crystal panel. Cutout portions (71) are formed in the frame (7) at positions corresponding to the projecting portions (41) of the holder (4). The outer surfaces (441) of the projecting portions (41) of the holder are made almost flush with the outline (711) of the frame (7) or are made somewhat inside the frame outline. With this configuration, the frame thickness is reduced, and tolerance dimensions in assembling the frame (7) and the holder (4) need not be taken into account, thus making it possible to reduce the outline size of the display device.

    • The present invention provides an IPS-type transflective liquid crystal display device in which the contrast is not inverted between a transmissive portion (10) and a reflective portion (11). The transflective liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel having a pair of substrates (SUB1, SUB2) and liquid crystal (LC) which is sandwiched between the pair of substrates (SUB1, SUB2), wherein the liquid crystal display panel includes a plurality of sub-pixels (A, B), each of which includes a transmissive portion (10) and a reflective portion (11), each sub-pixel (A, B) of the plurality of sub-pixels includes a pixel electrode (PX) which is formed on one substrate (SUB1) and a counter electrode (CT) which is formed on the same substrate (SUB1), and an electric field is generated between the pixel electrodes (PX) and the counter electrodes (CT), thus driving the liquid crystal (LC). Further, each sub-pixel (A, B) is configured such that the pixel electrode (PX) is formed in common with respect to the transmissive portion (10) and the reflective portion (11) and the counter electrode is formed independently with respect to the transmissive portion (10) and the reflective portion (11).
