    • An electric fireplace (10) includes a fireplace housing (12) and an electrical insert (40). The fireplace housing (12) includes a base panel (30) having a base opening (230A), a back panel (32), and at least one side panel (34). The electrical insert (40) is sized and shaped to fit and be supported and retained within the base opening (230 A). Additionally, the electrical insert (40) can include a heater (26), and a controller (28) including a processor that is configured to control operation of the electric fireplace (10). Further, each of the base panel (30), the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34) can be manufactured and installed independently of one another. The fireplace housing (12) can further include a front frame (236) that is manufactured and installed independently of each of the base panel (30), the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34). Still further, at least one of the back panel (32) and the at least one side panel (34) can be foldable.

    • An electric fireplace assembly (10) that is selectively movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration includes an assembly housing (12); and an electric fireplace (14) that is positioned substantially within the assembly housing (12). The electric fireplace (14) includes (i) a fireplace housing (24) having a first side (24A) that is spaced apart from the assembly housing (12) to define a first assembly cavity (42A); (ii) a simulated log (30) that is positioned within the fireplace housing (24); and (iii) a first fireplace door (16A) that is coupled to the fireplace housing (24). The first fireplace door (16A) is positioned substantially directly in front of the simulated log (30) to obscure a view of the simulated log (30) when the electric fireplace assembly (10) is in the closed configuration. Additionally, the first fireplace door (16A) is positioned within the first assembly cavity (42A) when the electric fireplace assembly (10) is in the open configuration.

    • An electric fireplace (10) for installing into a cabinet (11) having a structural opening (211A), includes a heater assembly (26), a flame generator (24) and an electrical connection assembly (249). The heater assembly (26) is configured to generate heated air. The flame generator (24) is configured to generate a simulated flame (18). The heater assembly (26) and the flame generator (24) are installed into the structural opening (211A) of the cabinet (11) independently of one another. The electrical connection assembly (249) electrically connects the heater assembly (26) and the flame generator (24) to a power source (42). The electrical connection assembly (249) includes (i) a first electrical cable assembly (249C) that is configured to be electrically coupled at one end to the heater assembly (26), and electrically coupled at the other end to the power source (42); and (ii) a second electrical cable assembly (249D) that is configured to be electrically coupled at one end to the heater assembly (26), and electrically coupled at the other end to the flame generator (24). The first electrical cable assembly (249C) includes an AC power cord. The second electrical cable assembly (249D) includes a low voltage DC cable.
