    • Systems and methods for a movable barrier opener system include a motor for moving a barrier along a defined travel path, and a movable barrier operator controller. The movable barrier operator controller may be configured to: initially define and store a first movable barrier behavioral profile indicative of a successful barrier run along the defined travel path, without barrier travel interruption, wherein the first movable barrier behavioral profile includes at least one position factor; and subsequently define a second movable barrier behavioral profile indicative of a currently monitored barrier run along the defined travel path, wherein the second movable barrier behavioral profile includes the at least one position factor. The movable barrier operator controller also may be configured to drive the motor to move the barrier and provide periodical reversal pulses to the motor; compare the first and second movable barrier behavioral profiles to determine a door position discrepancy between the position factor of the first movable barrier behavioral profile and the position factor of the second movable barrier behavioral profile, and interrupt the operation of the motor only when the door position discrepancy is indicative of an anomalous barrier travel condition.

    • A circuit (14) which gives a continuous voltage output indication of whether a contact (12) is open or closed. The circuit (14) senses the voltage across the contact (12) to detect whether the contact (12) is open or closed. When there is a significant voltage, the circuit (14) indicates that the contact (12) is open. When the voltage is negligible, the circuit (14) indicates that the contact (12) is closed. Alternatively, the current through the contact (12) is conducting or not. The circuit (14) can be used to indicate welding closed of a relay contact (12) in which case power to the load (10) can be turned off or the contact (12) can be opened by other than normal means. One application is to discontinue closing movement of a garage door when the motor relay switch does not open as desired, but there are innumerable other applications.
