    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deploy between a console of a vehicle and a seat system of the vehicle to provide improved restraint of a seated occupant by having the console react forces imparted onto an airbag cushion by the seated occupant.SOLUTION: An occupant restraint system 50 for a motor vehicle having the seat system 40 configured to provide seating to an occupant positioned adjacent to the console includes: a cushion 51 stored in the folded configuration and having an inflatable chamber 53 configured to inflate adjacent to the occupant 35 to restrain the occupant 35; and an inflator inflating the inflatable chamber 53. A bottom part of the cushion 51 deploys to a position below the top surface of the console 33 and a top part of the cushion 53 deploys to a position above the top surface of the console 33. During occupant 33 loading, a part of the cushion 53 contacts the console 33 to receive lateral support and to react the forces imparted into the cushion 53 induced by the occupant impacting the cushion. The lateral support impedes lateral displacement of the cushion 53 providing additional restraint to the occupant 35.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize performance of a brake assembly and to increase total efficiency. SOLUTION: An electromagnetic braking system and method is provided for selectively braking a motor using an electromagnetic brake having an electromagnet, a permanent magnet, a rotor assembly, and a brake pad. The brake assembly applies when the electromagnet is de-energized and releases when the electromagnet is energized. When applied, the permanent magnet moves the brake pad into frictional engagement with a housing, and when released, the electromagnet cancels the flux of the permanent magnet to allow a leaf spring to move the brake pad away from the housing. A controller has a DC/DC converter for converting a main bus voltage V M to a lower braking voltage based on certain parameters. The converter utilizes pulse-width modulation (PWM) to regulate the braking voltage.       SOLUTION: A process of accessing a data model includes symptom attributes and solution attributes, in relation to a system and a computer program product. An inquiry is received from a requester, specific symptom attributes are looked for, and a subset of the archive records that include the specific values is received. Values associated with the solution attributes for each of the records in the subset are determined. Part of the "determination of values" is performed using an information extraction tool on unstructured text data included in the archive records. A temporary case record is created for each of the records in the subset, and the records include a pointer to the corresponding record in the subset, and a heading section that includes: the symptom attributes, the specific symptom attribute values, the solution attributes, and the solution attribute values associated with the corresponding record in the subset. In this manner, a temporary case base is created from archive records in real time in response to the specific values in the query.
