    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conduit leak detector for not only detecting a leak of a small amount from a fluid conduit but detecting a leak with limitations excluded or minimized on the amount of flow through the leak detector.
      SOLUTION: A device for detecting a leak from a conduit includes a housing fluid-coupled to the conduit, a valve comprising a valve seat and a valve element movable between an open position and a closed position relative to the valve seat, a bypass conduit around the valve, a flow detector connected to the bypass conduit in order to detect the flow amount of a fluid passing through the bypass conduit, and a first mechanism structured so as to bias the valve element toward the closed position. The device may further comprise a second mechanism separated from the first mechanism in order to hold the valve element in the closed position until a pressure drop reaches a threshold. The first mechanism can operate based on the principle of buoyancy while the second mechanism can operate based on the principle of magnetism.
