摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for installing a plastic service pipe inserted into a steel service pipe in a right place. SOLUTION: A sensor assembly 18 for installing a plastic service pipe 16 into a steel service pipe connected to a main comprises a flexible element 42 which has light-emitting diodes and photoconductive cells in its end, and the flexible element 42 and the plastic service pipe 16 are sent to the steel service pipe. The sensor assembly 18 issues a signal when the photoconductive cell enters into the main 14 and informs that the plastic pipe 16 and supporting the seal 38 is rightly positioned and the sealant 30 is injected into the space between the service steel pipe 10 and the plastic service pipe 16. After injecting the sealant 30, the sensor assembly 18 is recovered by withdrawal through the nosepiece 32 and the service steel pipe 10.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a method of and device for installing plastic service pipes into existing steel service pipes. CONSTITUTION: A corrugated plastic service pipe 20 is inserted, together with a flexible guide assembly 22, through an accessible end of a steel service pipe 14, 10 that extends to a main. The flexible guide assembly 22 comprises a flexible guide element 24 and a flexible spring guide 26. The guide element 24 extends through a nosepiece 32 having an outer part 34 secured to the pipe 20 and an inner part 36. The spring guide 26 carries at its tip a sensor that emits a signal upon entering the main. When the pipe 20 is correctly positioned, fluid sealant is injected into the space between the pipe 20 and the pipe 14, 10. When the sealant has solidified sufficiently, the guide assembly 22 is withdrawn through the pipe 20 with the inner part 36 separated from the outer part 34 to allow withdrawal of the spring guide 26.

CONSTITUTION: When inlet ports 20, 21 are connected to pumps and pressurized seawater is supplied to the inlet ports 20, 21, the pressurized water flows into an outside chamber portion 6b, and falls into a lower box member chamber 12 through a pipe 10, and divides into a jet pump inlet port 26 and a nozzle 36, and jets from the nozzle 36. In a jet pump 25, because the pressurized water passes through the inlet port 26 and enters portions 27a, 27b, a sucking action is generated. Water-suspended solids such as soil, sand, pebbles are sucked through a suction port of the jet pump or are caught in a water flow caused by the suction of the jet pump, and are discharged far away from a cofferdam 1 through a tubular member 29 and a pipe having an outlet port 28. The cofferdam sinks into a groove and further under the bottom of seawater by the tare weight.

Thus, the position of hole of the pipe 10 is assigned so that it is identical with the position of corresponding hole 22 of the tube 12, so, the tube 10 containing the hole 22 is symmetrical with the tube 12 containing the hole 22 around a virtual plane between the tubes. The section area of the hole 22 is constant along the length of hole from the outside part of the tubes 10 and 12 to their inside part, and the ratio between the internal section area of the tubes 10 and 12 and that of the hole 22 is at least 9:1.
