摘要： An inverted bucket-type steam trap has a completely sealed casing of uniform wall thickness and preferably made of stainless steel. The casing is comprised of an upper part and a lower part. The lower part and the upper part both have a cylindrical wall portion which is open at one end and closed at the other end by a spherical segment-shaped bottom wall. The upper part and the lower part are affixed to each other by welding. The upper part has sidewardly extending outlet and inlet fitting means welded thereto. A valve is provided in association with the outlet fitting means. An inverted bucket is movable vertically inside the casing in response to the presence of condensate therein to operate the valve between opened and closed positions. An inlet tube is provided inside the casing and it extends from the inlet fitting means into the lower end of the bucket.

摘要： Systems and methods for testing steam traps or other similar devices in a hot water or steam system are described. A tester includes a wand that is handheld that can communicate with a handheld electronic device which in turn can communicate with a central monitor for storing and compiling readings as historical profile data. The wand includes a probe to physically contact the device to acoustically sense the performance of the device. The probe includes a probe tip and a stack of acoustic elements, an electrode, a stack mass, and a head to covert the acoustic signal into an electrical signal. The handheld device includes circuitry to process the information, interact with the user, and transmit information to and from the handheld electronic device and/or the central monitor.

摘要： A steam trap having a casing forming a chamber. The steam trap includes inlet and outlet fittings, mounted on the casing, and adapted for fluid inflow into and outflow from the chamber, respectively. The steam trap also includes a valve seat. The valve seat includes a contact surface defining a valve opening. The valve seat further includes a passageway that provides fluid communication from the valve opening to the outlet fitting. The passageway includes a wide section and a narrow section. The narrow section is positioned between the valve opening and the wide section. The ratio of the width of the narrow section to the height of the narrow section is greater than about 2:1. The steam trap also includes a valve member movably disposed in the chamber and adapted to be moved into and out of sealing engagement with the contact surface of the valve seat to open and close the valve opening. The steam trap also includes an operating lever disposed in the chamber and operatively connected to the valve member to vertically apply force to effect movement of the valve member toward and away from the contact surface of the valve seat thereby closing and opening the valve opening. The steam trap also includes a vertically movable inverted bucket provided in the chamber and operatively connected to the operating lever. Vertical movement of the inverted bucket in the chamber will effect movement of the operating lever thereby to move the valve member into and out of sealing engagement with the valve seat.
