The movements of the lever 4 are controlled by a spring 30 adjustable at the upper end along the lever, and adjustable for tension at the lower end by a finger nut 60. A spirit level 47 is situated on the base casing and is mounted on a spring 49, Fig. 9, upon a turntable 50. Adjusting screws 51, 52 secure the level to the turntable. Vibration, neutralizing.-A dashpot 34 connected to the balance lever is provided with a graphite piston and the damping effect is regulated by a screw 35, Fig. 4, having a V-shaped longitudinal groove along the inner end.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain compost at a low cost by utilizing indigenous microorganisms by providing the subject device with an agitating device provided with an agitating tank and agitating vanes and a pressure reduction device for reducing the pressure in the agitating tank. SOLUTION: Garbage is fed from through-pipes 11, 12 and 13 into the agitating tank 10 and is properly inoculated with the indigenous microorganisms. The privately made microorganisms formed by culturing the microorganisms living on the soil of fields, or the like, are usable. The inside of the agitating tank 10 is heated by the steam passing a steam passage 20. The garbage is stirred by driving a motor, thereby rotating stirring vanes 17. As a result, the garbage and the indigenous microorganisms are mixed and the heat generation of the garbage is initiated. At this time, the pressure in the agitating tank 10 is reduced by a vacuum pump. The pressure reduction is so executed that the boiling point of the water existing in the agitating tank 10 attains about 60 deg.C. The fermentation of the garbage progresses and the temperature is raised by the heat of fermentation until about 60 deg.C is attained but the temperature in the agitating tank 10 does not rise any more while the water exists therein. The inside of the agitating tank is thus maintained at which the microorganism can act.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce xylose at a low cost in consideration of the problem that production cost can not help increasing in employing processes of purification concentration and crystallization of saccharified solution when producing xylose by treating corn cores according to conventional methods. SOLUTION: When producing xylose from corn cores, the method of this invention is as follows: (1) crushing corn cores and feeding forcefully them along with charge water into a converter by means of a pump; (2) circulating filtrate discharged from the bottom of the converter through a collector into the top of the converter to decrease the volume of crushed corn cores with hydraulic pressure and to increase a charge of cores in the converter; (3) hydrolyzing the corn cores with acid and pressurized steam; (4) collecting xylose solution, followed by subjecting it to purification, concentration and crystallization.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach and detach a fret saw blade to and from a lower blade-holding part of a fret saw machine. SOLUTION: A lower blade-holding part 16 is provided on an upper face of a housing 12, and an upper blade-holding part 18 is provided above the lower blade-holding part 16. Both ends of a fret saw blade 15 are detachably held and supported by the upper and lower blade-holding parts 18, 16. It is so designed that a workpiece to be machined is sawed and machined by reciprocatingly moving the fret saw blade 15 up and down by a driving mechanism 14. A side wall 27 is formed inside the housing 12 on its one side, and a space 28 for attaching and detaching the blade is defined by this side wall 27. According to this structure, a work region under a table 13 can be secured with the aid of the attaching and detaching space 28 and, as a result, the fret saw blade 15 can be easily attached to and detached from the lower blade- holding part 16.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a fret sawing machine in which the hand of an operator is enabled to be observed by arranging a stationary arm in the upper part of a fixed and arranged table and turning the stationary arm in the cross direction, so that the direction of the point of a fret saw blade which penetrates the table and is reciprocated differs from the direction of extension of the stationary arm. CONSTITUTION:A stationary arm 3 is extended to the upper part in the vertical direction in the vertical part 15 in one end of a bed 1. A first straight part 17 is extended in the direction at right angles to the direction of the point of a fret saw blade 5 in the tip of the stationary arm. An oblique part 18 is curved from the first straight part 17 in the direction separating from an operator M and formed. A second straight part 19 is extended from the oblique part 18 in the same direction as the straight part 17. The holding part 20 of a lifting device extended in the direction at right angles to the straight parts 17, 19 is formed in the tip of the straight part 19. The lifting device 4 is held in the holding part 20. The fret saw blade 5 is freely reciprocatively fitted to the lifting device 4 and also the point of the fret saw blade is directed in the direction at right angles to the operator M. Therefore, the hand of the operator M is not blocked by the stationary arm 3 and working efficiency is enhanced.
