    • The present invention relates to a method of creating a depression in a chamber for the electrostatic deposition of powder on objects, and of recovering the unused surplus powder in said chamber, said method comprising essentially the step of applying in alternation a suction effect and a blowing effect through one or a plurality of air-permeable inclined plates which may constitute all or part of the bottom of said chamber. The powder-recovery device comprises a fan co-operating with a threeway valve in applying the said alternate suction and blowing effects to the inclined air-permeable plates which constitute a filter to separate the particles of powder from the conveying air. The suction period is made from five to twenty times longer than the blowing period, while the blowing intensity may be equal to, greater than or less than the suction intensity. The blowing and suction effects may be applied selectively over various parts of the surfaces of the inclined filter plates, and said plates may have flat, concave or convex surfaces which may furthermore be roughened or corrugated. The invention also covers the electrostatic powder deposition cabin utilizing the method, and the installation embodying the said chamber.

    • The invention relates to a nozzle for projecting powdered solid products intended for coating objects, of the kind comprising a device for shaping the incident mixture consisting of said powdered solid and its conveyor gas, into an outlet jet of substantially flat form, said nozzle essentially comprising a plurality of separate pipes passing at least partly through the nozzle in the direction of emission of the jet, and intended to be completely traversed by a specific portion of said jet, each of said separate pipes being provided with a suction device for said incident mixture, said suction devices being of the Venturi type, each comprising at least one conduit for injecting a flow of auxiliary gas into said pipes. Especially advantageous applications of the invention are found in the field of electrostatic powdercoating apparatus.

    • A powdering enclosure shields the parts to be coated and powdering means. A distributing device is situated close to the powdering enclosure and connected to the powdering means. A recovery system treats the gas extracted from the powdering enclosure and an input system introduces into the distributing device a quantity of powder corresponding to a part of that delivered by said distributing device to the abovesaid powdering means. The recovery system comprises a battery of several separating cells traversed by the gas extracted from the powdering enclosure and arranged to retain the powder in suspension in this gas. A first set of valves enables the selective isolation of one at least of these calls. A second set of valves enables the purging of this cell by a neutral gas to clean the cell and to draw the powder in it to a recycling pipe ending at the distributing device. This recycling pipe is traversed by a neutral gas for the pneumatic transport of the powder coming from the cell. The input system comprises a powder reserve communicating with a supply pipe, ending at the distributing device, traversed by a neutral gas for the pneumatic transport of the powder coming from said reserve.
