    • In some embodiments, a system comprises: a point of sales system comprising multiple point of sale devices at a retail store; and an inventory control circuit configured to: identify, from an aggregate of customer monitoring data of customers passing through a first area within a customer travel area, that a threshold number of the customers had a dwell time in the first area of at least a threshold dwell time; identify a first set of products positioned adjacent the first area; evaluate correlated sales data of each product of the first set and identify that a sales trend over time has a predefined relationship with at least a first trend threshold corresponding to the first product; and identify a first action to be performed relative to the first product as a function of the sales trend relative to the sales data of the first product.

    • An apparatus comprises a container (such as a retail shopping facility), a wireless transceiver, and a control circuit that utilizes the wireless transceiver to conduct a wireless communication with a product that is disposed within the container via a native wireless-communications capability of the product. The control circuit then maintains an inventory record of products as a function, at least in part, of the wireless communications with the product. The wireless communication can be initiated by the aforementioned control circuit or by the product as desired. Maintaining the inventory record can include adding the communicating product to the inventory record of products or confirming that the communicating product is already presently included in the inventory record of products.

    • In some embodiments, systems and methods are provided to forecast changes in seasons and/or changes in expected sales at one or more retail shopping facilities. In some embodiments, a system comprises a forecast control circuit; a memory storing computer instructions that cause the forecast control circuit to: forecast when a first changing of a first season to a second season is to occur at a first geographic area based on a detected change in sales of at least a first set of products at a first retail shopping facility located within the first geographic area; and forecast when in the future a second changing of the first season to the second season at a second geographic area is to occur based on a seasonal delay factor of the second geographic area relative to the occurrence of the changing of the first season at the first geographic area.

A system for container reuse comprises an order database storing a plurality of orders associated with an order fulfillment facility, a conveyor system, and a control circuit. The control circuit being configured to determine container capacity requirements of the plurality of orders in the order database based on dimensions of products in each order, predict container usage for fulfilling orders at the order fulfillment facility based at least on the container capacity requirements of the plurality of orders, determine whether a used container received at the conveyor system should be retained based on a container dimension of the used container and the container usage predicted for the order fulfillment facility, and cause the conveyor system to route the used container to a fulfillment area or a disposal area based on whether the used container should be retained.
