    • A method and apparatus for achieving a redundant connection in a communication network. A pluggable transceiver 400a is provided for achieving a redundant connection in a communication network when inserted in a communication network node of the communication network. The pluggable transceiver 400a is connected to a first cable 402 on a first input and is directly connected to two or more data-plane ports (R1/T1, R2/T2) when inserted. The pluggable transceiver 400a comprises a converter 404 adapted to receive incoming data in a first representation and convert the incoming data from the first representation into a second representation, and a distributor 406 adapted to distribute the incoming data to a first data-plane port among the two or more data- plane ports in the second representation,Moreover, the pluggable transceiver 400a comprises also a first selector 408 adapted to select the first data-plane port and receive outgoing data from the first data-plane port in the second representation, where the first data-plane port is active,and the converter 404 being further adapted to convert the outgoing data from the second representation into the first representation and transmit the outgoing data in the first representation on the first cable 402. By arranging functionality for selection of data-plane ports in the pluggable transceiver, a robust and flexible communication situation is achieved.

    • The present disclosure relates to methods, a system and an apparatus for detection of load balancing in a packet-switched communication network (10). According to an embodiment a plurality of test sessions(22, 23, 24, 25) are initiated, which differ with respect to at least one associated parameter value for a source address, a destination address, a source port, a destination port, or a protocol. Load detection in the packet-switched communication network (10) can be detected based on differences between measurement results (28) of different test sessions (22, 23, 24, 25) of the plurality of test sessions. Situations where one network path is measured, while application traffic (21) takes another unmeasured network path can be avoided by setting-up multiple simultaneous test sessions (22, 23, 24, 25) with differing parameter values such that the test sessions are routed differently by any hash algorithms(19a, 19b, 19c, 19d) used for load balancing across network paths.
