The compound of formula I is an important synthetic intermediate for a compound of formula III (Z is O or S; R is lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or lower alkynyl, etc.). The compound of formula III has a highly selective germicidal activity and exhibits improved controlling effects on chemical- resistant germs but no controlling effect on blights caused by chemical-sensitive germs.
