    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode fluorescent lamp free from drastic brightness decrease by an ambient temperature as a back light for an LCD for a portable electronic device by setting the relative positional relation between the electrodes and an insulating space in such a relative position substantially as giving no ill effect on heat radiation of the electrodes in the heat insulating space. SOLUTION: A double-tube cold cathode fluorescent lamp 10 is constituted by forming a heat insulating space 8 between an outer tube 1 and inner tube 2, provided with electrodes 6, 6 in the tip parts of a lead wire extended inward penetrating sealing parts 4 formed in both sides of the inner tube 1, and lit by impressing the electrodes 6, 6. The interval between the inner tube 1 and the outer tube 2 is substantially uniform along the tube axis of the inner tube 1, and the interval is formed into a vacuum space by outer tube sealing parts 9, 9 or so-called diameter-contracted parts formed by contracting the outside diameter toward the inner tube 1 in parts a little inside from the ends in the left/right both ends of the outer tube, so as to be the heat insulating space 8. The electrodes 6, 6 are opposed with each other inside the outer tube sealing part 9, 9.

    • PURPOSE: To particularly shorten a non-emitting part so as to form into small size, by forming an electrode into a disk shape, with a plate thickness direction placed in an axial direction of a glass tube supported and mounted by a collapsing work part of a lead wire in a glass tube internal side. CONSTITUTION: In the center of a disk-shaped electrode plate 6 having a suitable diameter to apply a getter material to one surface and mercury amalgam to the other surface, a hole part 6a is provided to insert a prescribed number of sheets to a nickel wire 5b, and its tip end part is interposed by a squeezing worked part 5d and a weld swelling 5c. The electrode plate 6 is mounted with its plate thickness direction along an axial direction of a glass tube 2. In a condition that inside the glass tube 2 is exhausted to be sealed with rate gas, after a bead 4 is fused, high frequency heating is applied to activate the getter material. In this way, while having a required area in the electrode plate, a length in a glass tube axial direction can be remarkably decreased, accordingly to reduce a length of a non-emitting part, so that a fluorescent lamp can be miniaturized.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a transparent electrode pattern according to photolithography without the use of mask filaments by forming a metal pattern of a black mask and then forming a transparent insulating film, a transparent electrically conductive film, and a photoresist, and then exposing the photoresist film through the black mask from the base plate side. CONSTITUTION:After a metal film with a predetermined thickness is deposited on a glass base plate 1, a pattern of a black mask 2 is formed according to a photoetching method, and transparent electrode film 4 and an insulating film 3, with a predetermined thickness, for insulating the mask 2 are formed thereon to cover the mask 2. Then, an ITO film as a transparent electrode film 4 is deposited, and a negative type photoresist film 5 is applied thereon, and after temporary baking, the photoresist is exposed to ultraviolet light from the rear surface of the base plate 1, and the resist film 5 is developed to remove the non-exposed part. Further, unnecessary ITO film is removed by etching to form a pattern 4a of a transparent electrode, and the photoresist is peeled.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal color display device which abounds in the mass-producing property and whose display contrast is satisfactory, by providing plural pieces of pin holes on a color filter film, and joining a first layer and a second layer of a transparent electrode of a double structure through an opaque metallic film installed in this pin hole. CONSTITUTION:On a transparent substrate 1 for forming a liquid crystal cell, a transparent electrode 5 of a double structure is provided, and also, between them, a color filter film 6 is installed, and also, on the color filter film 6, plural pieces of pin holes 13 are formed. Transparent electrodes of the first layer 5a and the second layer 5b are joined electrically through an opaque metallic film installed in this pin hole 13. In such a way, a uniform driving voltage can be applied to the whole area of the liquid crystal cell, a color display whose display contrast is good is obtained, and also, since the opaque metallic film is provided, deterioration of the display contrast caused by a light leakage from the pin hole does not occur. Also, in case said electrode has been formed by an electrodeposition method, it is not dissolved in a photoetching liquid at the time of forming the transparent electrode of the second layer, and the mass-producing property can be improved.
