    • A method of receiving data at a communications device from a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises receiving downlink control information indicating an allocation of downlink communications resources of a wireless access interface provided by the wireless communications network for receiving downlink data, the downlink control information also providing an indication of a relative priority associated with the received downlink data, and receiving the downlink data from the allocated downlink communications resources. According to an automatic repeat request process, the communications device then performs the steps of determining whether the downlink data was successfully received, and generating an automatic repeat request acknowledgement or negative acknowledgement, HARQ-ACK, in accordance with whether or not the downlink data was successfully received. The communications device then performs the steps of determining that uplink communications resources for transmitting the HARQ-ACK are not available, using transmission rules to identify next available uplink communications resources presenting an opportunity for transmitting the HARQ-ACK, and using the indication of the relative priority associated with the received downlink data to determine whether the communications device can transmit the HARQ-ACK in the next available uplink communications resources as the resource opportunity to transmit the HARQ-ACK.

    • A method for communicating in a mobile telecommunications network, the network comprising at least a first network node configured to communicate via a wireless interface with a second network node, wherein the wireless interface comprises a first frequency band in which access to resources in the frequency band is a contention-based access, wherein the first network node is configured with a first frame configuration and wherein the second network node is configured with a second frame configuration, the first frame configuration defining first frames having a transmission portion and an idle portion and the second frame configuration defining second frames having a transmission portion and an idle portion. The method comprises transmitting, by the first network node and in a first transmission portion of a first frame, a grant message to the second network node, the grant message scheduling a first transmission, wherein the grant message indicates that the first transmission will be transmitted in a later transmission portion of the first frames, the later transmission portion starting after the start of the first transmission portion; performing, by the first network node, a first contention-based access procedure in respect of the later transmission portion; if the first contention-based access procedure is successful, the first network node providing an indication that the later transmission portion was successfully acquired; monitoring, by the second network node and based on the received grant, the indication; and determining, by the second network node and based on whether the indication was detected, whether the first network node successfully acquired the later transmission portion. Based on the determination, the second network node determines whether to transmit the first transmission; and if it is determined to transmit the first transmission, transmits the first transmission.

    • A method of operating a communications device comprises determining that the communications device can transmit data via communications resources of an unlicensed channel of a wireless access interface, which is shared in time with at least one of an infrastructure equipment of a wireless communications network and one or more other communications devices which can also transmit in the unlicensed channel. The transmission of the data by the communications device is arranged in time according to a fixed frame period (FFP) including a channel occupancy time (COT) for transmitting the data and an idle period. The communications device can transmit the data on the unlicensed channel by detecting that none of the infrastructure equipment and the one or more other communications devices are transmitting on the unlicensed channel as part of a contentious channel access phase. The method includes determining that one or more portions of a channel occupancy time of a fixed frame period are unused by the communications device transmitting at least part of the data. The method includes releasing the one or more portions of the unlicensed channel providing communications resources unused for use by at least one of the infrastructure equipment and the one or more other communications devices to transmit signals. An arrangement is thereby provided in which communications resources of an unlicensed channel which is shared in time and which are unused can be released by a communications device or infrastructure equipment.

    • A method of operating a communications device in a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises determining, based on one or more first downlink control signals received from the wireless communications network, that the communications device is to transmit a first uplink signal comprising a first set of feedback indications associated with a first priority level to the wireless communications network in a first set of uplink resources of a wireless access interface, the first set of feedback indications each indicating whether one of one or more first downlink data signals each scheduled by one of the first downlink control signals have been successfully received by the communications device, determining, based on one or more second downlink control signals received from the wireless communications network, that the communications device is to transmit a second uplink signal comprising a second set of feedback indications associated with a second priority level different to the first priority level to the wireless communications network in a second set of uplink resources of the wireless access interface, the second set of feedback indications each indicating whether one of one or more second downlink data signals each scheduled by one of the second downlink control signals have been successfully received by the communications device, determining that the first set of uplink resources and the second set of uplink resources are located within a same time slot or time sub-slot of the wireless access interface, transmitting only the second uplink signal to the wireless communications network instead of both of the first uplink signal and the second uplink signal, the second uplink signal comprising an indication of one or more of the first set of feedback indications, and determining that a downlink assignment index, DAI, associated with the first set of feedback indications is reduced when the one or more of the first set of feedback indications are indicated within the second uplink signal.
