    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an anchor, which forms a mechanical connection between framing members of a diaphragm and a structural panel, resistant against a periodical or opposite lateral force.
      SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an improved mechanical connection between the structural panel and the framing members 2 that support the structural panel 1 forming a diaphragm. The connection includes: a structural panel 1 having a distal side 3, a proximal side, and a plurality of edge faces; a frame consisting of a plurality of framing members 2 disposed in registration with the proximal side of the structural panel near the edge faces; a plurality of perimeter fasteners 7 connecting the structural panel 1 to the framing members 2; and clips or perimeter edging members 21 for reducing bending of the perimeter fasteners attached to a substantial number of the perimeter fasteners. The clips or perimeter edging members 21 for reducing bending of the perimeter fasteners act when lateral forces are imposed on the building structure of which the diaphragm is a part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector tying together building structure members such as a foundation, columns, and beams, and, although economical in terms of production and installation, capable of withstanding catastrophic forces of an earthquake, typhoon, and the like better than those using techniques of the prior art. SOLUTION: This connector 1 comprises a recessed sheet member in which a hole for receiving through a locking member 4 is formed, a first side face member 5 coupled to the recessed sheet member, a second side face member coupled to the recessed sheet member, and a back member 7 coupled to the first side face member 5 and the second side face member. The connector 1 is attached to a first building structure member 11 such as a stud at the back member 7 by a wooden screw 10, and is attached to a second building structure member 21 such as a foundation by the locking member 4. Since the sheet member is recessed, the connector 1 can be fabricated from thin galvanized sheet iron in a conventional facility and does not require secondary machining. Installation of the connector 1 can be achieved simply by access from the front.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a specific design load by which a wall in a building can endure lateral force applied to the wall by arranging a shearing resistant assembly between an upper frame of the building and a structural element existing below through a connecting means. SOLUTION: A shearing resistant assembly 9 has a flat shearing resistant element 10 composed of this side surface, the rear surface 12, the upper edge 13, the lower edge 14 and the first/second side edges 15, 16, and also has an upper support material 17, a lower support material, a first chord, a second chord 20 to form a support frame for the shearing resistant element 10 by being connected to a front face in the respective vicinities of the upper edge 13, the lower edge 14 and the first/second side edges 15, 16 of the shearing resistant element 10 to be connected to the shearing resistant element 10 by a means 21. This shearing resistant assembly 9 is incorporated into a wall 1 by fixing an upper frame fastener having the screw part to a structural element existing under a building by going past a lower frame of the wall by a footing anchor after being inserted into an upper frame of the wall through the upper support material 17 so as to be connected to an upper plate of the wall 1 and the structural element existing under the building to thereby realize a wall structure endurable to lateral force applied to the wall.
