    • A flow regulator includes a body with an aperture into which an inlet and an outlet open. A pin has a bore extending therein and communicating with the outlet. A first aperture, a second aperture and a bypass orifice are spaced longitudinally along the pin and extend there through opening into the bore. A valve member is slideably located around the pin and is biased by a spring into a first position along the pin in which the valve member closes the first aperture while opening the second aperture. When a pressure differential between the inlet and outlet exceeds a first level, the valve member moves away from the first position and begins covering the second aperture. Thereafter continuing increase of the pressure differential above a greater second level results in the valve member moving into a second position at which both the first and second apertures are closed. However in the second position, a secondary flow path exists between the inlet and the outlet through the bypass orifice. Further increase of the pressure differential significantly above the second level causes the valve member to move into a pressure relief position in which the first aperture is open while the second aperture remains closed.

    • An apparatus includes a reservoir of a pressurized fluid connected to a supply conduit. A fluid powered actuator has a first port and an second port. A volumetric flow regulator has a valve element that controls fluid flow between an inlet chamber which receives fluid from the supply conduit and an outlet chamber connected to the first port of the fluid powered actuator. A sensing orifice is coupled between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber of the volumetric flow regulator, such that the valve element varies flow of fluid between the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber in response to a pressure differential across the sensing orifice. This apparatus ensures relatively constant velocity operation of the fluid powered actuator under varying load conditions. A damping mechanism is disclosed for slowing the fluid powered actuator as an end of its travel approaches.

    • A hydraulic valve includes a body with bore, a supply port coupled to a first chamber, and a return port connected to the bore and the control chamber. A brake port enables the wheel brake to be connected to the bore, while a brake actuator passage enables pressurized fluid to be introduced into the bore. An orifice is between the supply passage and a second chamber and a nozzle couples the second chamber to the control chamber. A servo valve has a flapper that controls flow of fluid through the nozzle. A valve spool in the bore has a first position at which the brake actuator passage is coupled to the brake passage, and a second position at which the return passage is coupled to the brake passage. The position of the valve spool is determined by pressures in the first chamber and the second chamber.
