摘要： Aspects described herein generally relate to communicating between a user equipment (UE) and a cell using frequency division duplexing (FDD) to separate an uplink frequency band and a downlink frequency band with the cell. An indicator can be transmitted from the cell and received by the UE to implement time division duplexing (TDD) on the uplink frequency band. Based at least in part on the indicator, communicating between the UE and the cell can include separating the uplink frequency band into a plurality of downlink subframes for receiving downlink communications from the cell and a plurality of uplink subframes for transmitting uplink communications to the cell.

摘要： Methods, systems, and devices are described for providing periodic CSI reports and/or aperiodic CSI reports to provide CSI for both anchor and non-anchor TDD subframes in eIMTA. Periodic CSI reports may be provided based on a reference configuration, and aperiodic CSI reports may be provided based on a time of reception of a CSI request and a reference configuration. A UE may determine to report anchor or non-anchor CSI through explicit or implicit signaling. Aperiodic CSI may be used for transmission of anchor subframe CSI reports and periodic CSI may be used for transmission of non-anchor subframe CSI reports, or aperiodic CSI may be used for transmission of non-anchor subframe CSI reports and periodic CSI may be used for transmission of anchor subframe CSI reports. A determination of the reference subframe for aperiodic CSI estimation may be based on a time of receipt of an aperiodic CSI request.

A two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook is determined for elevation beamforming. The codebook supports single stream codewords and multistream codewords. The two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook is generated by stacking the columns of the matrix product of two discrete Fourier transform codebook matrices. The codebook size may be flexibly designed based on required beam resolution in azimuth and elevation. A best codebook index is selected from the generated two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform based codebook. The selected codebook index is provided in a channel state information report. The channel state information report is transmitted to a base station.

A user equipment (UE) measure and report cell measurements for neighboring cells to assist the wireless network with handover decisions. In some cases, the UE may be configured to report beam-level measurements for just a subset of neighboring cells instead of each neighboring cell. For example, the UE may measure, or report beam measurements for a subset of the neighboring cells which meet configured criteria or are included in a subset of cells configured by the serving cell. Techniques for configuring and maintaining the subset of cells are described herein. For example, the cells in the subset may be configured by the UE or the serving cell of UE. A cell may also be removed from the subset if the cell does not continue to meet criteria for being included in the subset.

摘要： Techniques for co-existence between wireless Radio Access Technologies (RATs) are disclosed. During an active period of a Discontinuous Transmission (DTX) communication pattern, a first signal may be transmitted during a first subframe and a second signal may be transmitted during a second subframe, while during an inactive period the first signal may be transmitted during the first subframe and the second signal may be omitted during the second subframe. Retransmission of one or more packets may take place over a subset of less than all retransmission opportunities based on the DTX communication pattern. A Secondary Cell (SCell) may be reconfigured as the Primary Cell (PCell) and the PCell may be reconfigured as the SCell for one or more access terminals based on a load balancing condition or a channel selection condition.

A user equipment (UE) may autonomously initiate a handover procedure and select a target base station for the handover procedure. The UE may measure a signal from the source base station or the target base station, or both, and the UE may determine whether specific criteria at both base stations are within a pre-configured range. If the criteria at both base stations are within the pre-configured range, the UE may identify the target base station as a potential candidate for a handover. Accordingly, when the UE determines that radio conditions with the source base station are deteriorating (or fall below a threshold), the UE may initiate a handover to the target base station autonomously and without specific direction from the source base station.
