    • Un sistema catalítico eficaz para oxidar materiales que comprende: (a) de 1 ppb a 500 ppm de un catalizador de oxidación con metal de transición, comprendiendo dicho catalizador un complejo de un metal de transición y un ligando macropolicíclico unido por puente cruzado, en donde: (1) dicho metal de transición se selecciona del grupo que consiste en Mn(II), Mn(III), Mn(IV), Mn(V), Fe(II), Fe(III), Fe(IV), Cr(II), Cr(III), Cr(IV), Cr(V), Cr(VI); y (2) dicho ligando macropolicíclico rígido está coordinado por al menos cuatro, preferiblemente cinco, átomos dadores al mismo metal de transición y comprende: (i) un anillo macrocíclico orgánico que contiene cuatro o más átomos dadores, preferiblemente al menos 3, más preferiblemente al menos 4, de estos átomos dadores son N, separados entre sí por enlaces covalentes de al menos uno, preferiblemente 2 ó 3, átomos no dadores, estando de dos a cinco, preferiblemente de tres a cuatro, más preferiblemente cuatro, de estos átomos dadores coordinados almismo metal de transición en el complejo; (ii) un resto de unión que es una cadena unida por puente cruzado, que conecta covalentemente al menos 2 átomos dadores no adyacentes del anillo macrocíclico orgánico, siendo dichos átomos dadores covalentemente conectados no adyacentes átomos dadores cabeza de puente que están coordinados al mismo metal de transición en el complejo, y en donde dicho resto de unión comprende de 2 a 10 átomos, en donde la cadena unida por puente cruzado preferida se selecciona de 2, 3 ó 4 átomos no dadores y 4-6 átomos no dadores con un átomo dador adicional; y (3) uno o más ligandos no macropolicíclicos, preferiblemente seleccionados del grupo que consiste en H2O, ROH, NR3, RCN, OH-, OOH-, RS-, RO-, RCOO-, OCN-, SCN-, N3-, CN-, F-, Cl-, Br-, I-, O2-, NO3-, NO2-, SO42-, SO32-, PO43-, fosfatos orgánicos, fosfonatos orgánicos, sulfatos orgánicos, sulfonatos orgánicos y dadores de N aromáticos tales como piridinas, piracinas, pirazoles, imidazoles, bencimidazoles, pirimidinas, triazoles y tiazoles en donde R es H, alquilo opcionalmente sustituido, arilo opcionalmente sustituido; y (b) el resto hasta 100% de uno o más materiales adyuvantes detergentes.
