    • A network access node/eNB selects one or more feedback modes for each of a plurality of channel state information reference signal CSI-RS resources so as not to exceed a predetermined maximum complexity; then configures a user equipment UE with them. Each CSI-RS resource is associated with a respective set of allowed feedback modes, and at least one of the sets has a fewer number of feedback modes than at least one other of the sets; for example the most complex feedback mode out of all possible feedback modes is excluded from the smaller set(s). An example formula is given for the predetermined complexity. If the UE receives a configuration that a) exceeds the maximum complexity, or b) configures a feedback mode for a given CSI-RS resource that is not in the respective associated set of allowed feedback modes, the UE can disregard the configuration as an error case.

    • Frequency resources for common control regions of a control channel are defined or determined as a function of at least bandwidth and an identifier of a specific cell. In the non-limiting embodiments: the bandwidth is bandwidth of a cell or of a component carrier; the frequency resources are defined/determined further as a function of an offset value; the common control regions are of an ePDCCH and the offset value differs from a channel edge offset value for common control regions of all other ePDCCHs of all other adjacent cells or all other transmit nodes in the same cell; and the frequency resources comprise frequency stripes (which may be interleaved by resource element groups) distributed in frequency across the bandwidth.

    • In accordance with the exemplary embodiments of the invention, there is at least a method, apparatus, and computer program to determine each transmission point participating in a joint cooperative multi-point transmission to a user equipment, send a downlink message to the user equipment which identifies each of the transmission points, and which schedules for the user equipment downlink resources on which each of the transmission points are to send downlink data to the user equipment in the joint cooperative multi-point transmission, and send a transmission to the user equipment on one of the downlink resources in conjunction with each other transmission point's transmission to the user equipment. Further, in accordance with the exemplary embodiments there is at least a method, apparatus, and computer program to receive a downlink message which identifies each of transmission points participating in a joint cooperative multi-point transmission with a user equipment, and which schedules downlink resources on which the user equipment is to receive downlink data from the transmission points for the joint cooperative multi-point transmission, and receive, at the user equipment, a transmission on one of the downlink resources in conjunction with the other transmission point's transmission.
