    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a multilayer coating film capable of obtaining an excellent pearly glossy multilayer coating film in the appearance by an aqueous coating material, using a conventional coating apparatus.SOLUTION: The method for forming the multilayer coating film includes a process (1) for applying a white electrically conductive primer on a base material, a process (2) for applying an aqueous color base coating composition, a process (3) for applying an aqueous mica base coating composition, a process (4) for applying a clear coating composition, and a process (5) for baking. The method for forming the multilayer coating film also includes a pre-heat process between the processes (1) and (2) and between the processes (3) and (4). In the aqueous color base coating composition, the viscosity A of the coating film immediately after coating is 80,000-165,000, and the viscosity B of the coating film immediately before the process (3) is 100,000 or more.
