摘要： A system and method for creating an authentication mark on a recording medium by depositing marking material on a medium in an image area to create a marking material image and to create a marking material authentication image. The method comprises (a) depositing marking material directly onto a recording medium in an image area to create a marking material image and in an authentication image area to create a marking material authentication image, wherein the marking material is an ultraviolet curable phase change ink composition comprising an optional colorant and a phase change ink vehicle comprising a radiation curable monomer or prepolymer; a photoinitiator; a reactive wax; and a gellant; (b) depositing a predetermined amount of additional marking material upon the authentication image area to increase an amount of marking material associated with the marking material authentication image in the authentication image area; and (c) curing the marking material upon the recording medium such that the fixed marking material associated with the authentication image area is a tactilely perceptible authentication mark, the fixed marking material associated with the tactilely perceptible authentication mark having a first height, the first height being tactilely perceptible.

摘要： Curable solid inks and low shrinkage curable solid inks which are solid at room temperature and molten at an elevated temperature at which the molten ink is applied to a substrate. In particular, the solid inks of the present embodiments retain the advantages of handling, safety, and print quality usually associated with conventional solid phase change inks but provide additional breakthrough performance characteristics such as enhanced robustness, lower jetting temperature, and ultra-low shrinkage upon crystallization, which allow the inks to be used as novel materials in inkjet-based Braille and raised print applications.

摘要： Curable phase change inks contain an ink vehicle, a pigment and a dispersant. A base ink set is of colored phase change inks that utilize the same dispersant, and also desirably contain the same amount of the dispersant. This allows the different color curable phase change inks to be mixed together while avoiding incompatibilities between each other, resulting in custom colors and a reliable expanded color gamut for the base ink set. Also, a method of forming images with the custom color curable phase change inks is disclosed.

A predetermined amount of additional marking material is further deposited upon the medium in the authentication image area to increase an amount of marking material associated with the marking material authentication image in the authentication image area. The fixed marking material associated with the authentication image area is a tactilely perceptible authentication mark having a height, with respect to a surface of the medium, that is tactilely perceptible, wherein the fixed marking material associated with the marking material image area is tactilely non-perceptible.

Also disclosed herein is a method of printing with the phase change ink.
